My son and I stayed in Lisnagree B&B, Galway, for some nights in June 2008.
The hostess was friendly and helped us to get reservations for some touristtours with Galway Tours. She was also helpful to get us a cap on our day of leaving.
The room was clean, and the beds were the absolut best on our 12 day trip to Ireland.
Besides the superb beds there was tea/coffee, TV and a hairdryer in the room.
The nice irish breakfast was made for us every morning, and we could help ourselves to a couple of differend cereals, bananas and juice.
The B&B is located in an area of Galway called Newcastle. There is absolutly nothing of interest in the sorroundings, except for a hotel around the corner.
If you're not travelling with a car, it is not a very comfortable place to stay. It is far to long into the city of Galway. It's a 30 minutes walk to the centre.
The public busses does not go very often, so if you miss one, you might have to wait for 1 or 2 hours - if you don't choose to walk or take a taxi.
There was a lot of noice in the evening, when the host-family came home. Perhaps the problem was more for us, as our room was right next to the entrance-door, but it was very noicy with a lot of loud talking and doors slamming.
The breakfastroom looked like a livingroom with a sofa and a TV, but we were never told, if we could use this room.
A quit annoying thing (but probably with the best of intentions) was that the hostess did our room in the pauses of her making the breakfast for us. Sometimes she only managed to do half our room during our eating breakfast, and the rest after we left the room for the day.
We would have preferred if she had waited till we left the room for the day.
But .... the room was nice, the hostess was very friendly and the breakfast was tasty - so, if you travel by car and only for a few nights, Lisnagree would be a very good place to stay.
