The Forge House was indeed very nice! We stayed 2 nights in early September 08 - and did perfectly fine with no car. Took the train in from Dublin and the B&B was just a few blocks walk from the station at Eyre Square. Our second day we took a bus tour from in town to Kylemore Abbey. When we left Galway, we rented a car in town, and drove on to Mayo. We had some rain, but lots of good weather too during our stay.
The owners were very friendly as stated and the place was clean as a whistle. There was a lovely British lady guest at breakfast who stays at Forge House each year, and she said she would not stay elsewhere.
We would also stay again. Location was perfect, and price was right. Now, when can we return? :) Ireland is fantastic.
