Fiona gives a wonderful overview of the city combining the old with the new and tells wonderful stories along the way. We came away with a much more vivid understanding of early Galway, its people and history. Having lived in the area for over 30 years, Fiona knows the city and all its hidden treasures including where to get the best chocolate cake, fish and chips or cheese. I highly recommend Fiona.

I have wanted to go on a guided walking tour of Galway City for some time as Galway is such a charming and historical city. Fiona started off with just myself and three others and it was the most enjoyable and informative 90 minutes I have ever spent. Fiona has a natural talent for imparting information in an interesting but friendly way - she is a fountain of knowledge on the history of Galway. Highly recommended and great value at only €10.

On our first full day in Galway we took the 90-minute walking tour which was informative and provided a good orientation to Galway. Our guide pointed out historical buildings, explained the history and significance of the Claddagh ring, led us down streets and alleys, and told us the best place to enjoy chocolate desserts! Later in the day we visited some of the places she had mentioned, including the beautiful cathedral. I suggest taking the tour soon after you arrive so that you can visit or revisit places pointed out by the guide.

On our family trip we took advantage of the beautiful day to have Fiona of Galway Walking Tours take us on a roughly two hour tour of the city. It was fantastic. She was so knowledgeable about the history and you could tell that she cared about sharing it with us. We had a great time.

My mother and brother had used her before and were excited for the rest of the family to get the same experience they had.

She was easy to meet at the Harbour Hotel and once we had all arrived we were promptly off to explore the city. It was definitely one of the highlights of our visit to this wonderful city.
