After reading reviews online, decided to try for ourselves. Definitely worth seeking out. Excellent fish & chips! Great service. All cooked perfectly & fresh to order. Many ingredients sourced locally. Good prices. Will visit again!

Having first experienced Jack Jordans at the Volvo Ocean Race some time ago, we thought fish and chips could not get better. It was competing with McDonaghs of Galway, traditionally the best fish and chips facility in Galway ... indeed in the west. But having gone to the take away outlet a couple of times since, the quality is just not what was on offer at the Volvo Ocean Race. What is on offer is fine, entirely acceptable as a fast food outlet, but just nothing as good as our first experience and no longer does it compete with McDonaghs for us.

Perfectly ok fast food; just not special.

One of the indulgent pleasures of our frequent trips to Ireland is a visit to the chipper. I have passed Jack Jordans several times but this time my son was starving and insisted we try it out. We were not disappointed. Lovely golden hand cut chips cooked to perfection and meaty, flakey cod with an amazing batter. To be honest it was the batter that did it for me, it was light, like tempura and so much nicer then the traditional heavy batter you get in other chippers. The service was also excellent. Slightly off the beaten track it is definitely worth a detour!

I really enjoy food in jack jordans eat there occasionally chips etc are Divine . The last few months there was price hike of €2.00 - €2.50 on The family Meal Deals and smaller hikes on Burgers chips etc....with no advance notice or explanation to there Customers. This is unfortunate as the food is nice and is gone pricey there now. Wont be able to afford to eat there as much.

My wife and I are on holiday from the US and we both eat gluten free. We found Jack Jordan's website while doing some research before the trip. We saw that they only did gluten free once a month, and not the days that we would be in Galway. I e-mailed the restaurant to see if there was anything they could do for us - just a shot in the dark I hoped. I got an e-mail back and eventually a call from James, the store's manager, saying that they had changed the oil that morning and would be willing to whip up some GF batter for us to have GF fish and chips! When we got there, Dee and the other gal working the register were incredibly kind and welcoming. Then, by far, the best gluten free fish and chips we've ever had. Thank you so much!
