“Most pleasant stay”
Reviewed 12 July 2012

We had such a wonderful experience at this hotel. The staff was excellent, very helpful and pleasant. There is a very nice bar in the hotel. The location was a short walk to the center of town. Our room was large and very clean. Would recommend this to anyone.

The Harbour Hotel proved to be a great location for our party! In return for pre-ordering finger food for our guests, we were given the exclusive use of a function room with its own bar. The staff were very professional and friendly - and remarkably tolerant of our reluctance to clear the room at the end of the night! A great location, and a very memorable night!

This hotel is graded 4 star, which it is not but it makes up for it with its friendly staff who cannot do enough for you... nothing is any trouble. I stayed their last week for the Galway Volvo Ocean Finale and not only was the Hotel an excellant location the staff were exceptional given that the hotel was busy every min of the day! Food was great some delay's in waiting but worth the wait when you got it!! Great atmosphere in the hotel the whole week through. Definitely recommend this hotel if you are going to Galway to enjoy everything that is good about Galway or attending one of their many festivals/events. If you want a relaxing break this is not the hotel for you... The Rooms are small, windows don't open very far, Shower pressure not great and furniture basic. However rooms and all hotel areas are clean and you see staff cleaning at all times during the day!! Will definitely return.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back a little quieter

The Harbour Hotel is perfectly situated and a quick walk to shops, restaurants and pubs. The hotel is clean and the service is excellent. I highly recommend it and will certainly return on my next trip to Galway.

The hotel was a 5 minute walk from the city so very central and set in the harbour, a lovely area. It is close to the city without being noisy. The lobby was done in limes/purples and there was plenty of seating and a lovely smell of food from the bar. The room we stayed in was a triple room and was a bit clausterphobic. The narrow doorway/hallway into the room made it feel smaller than it was. The windows only opened a crack aswell which didn't help matters. I have no doubt this is due to health and safety but nonehteless it made the room feel stuffy. The shower was complicated to work. Other than that the room was lovely, with big leather headboards and a spacious bathroom. The room service menu was extensive and the 24 hour menu was a novel idea that I hadn't come across before. We ordered the snack for 2, which had no tray charge which was a great idea to promote it. The food was delivered promptly and was very tasty. There was more than enough for 2, despite the fact they forgot the tempura prawns on our tray. Breakfast was a buffet served in the bar, which has some lovely big "booth" type tables for groups dining together. The buffet was extensive and well stocked. Overall was very impressed with the hotel it was clean and modern and the staff were very friendly and a great location.
