nice. large room/bathroom. breakfast was very salty- not very good- probably was our least favorite of our 2 week stay in Ireland. The hotel definitely could use some remodeling. Good location. Enjoyed that we could leave the car in the parking lot once we checked out of the hotel.

Stayed at the Harbour Hotel for 4 nights in September, a triple room for B&B. Location was excellent we were able to walk into Galway day and night time. Food was lovely can definitely reccommend the afternoon tea! Galway night life is excellent but avoid the first week of college starting, we seen some sights on a Monday night! Breakfast was excellent plenty to choose from but be prepared to wait for a table towards the end of breakfast time as the restaurant is a little small. Would definitely return to the Harbour Hotel and can reccommend it for a great stay.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable break in the Harbour Hotel from the 10th - 13th September inclusive. This is a hotel with very friendly and helpful staff commencing with Dan Regan and team members in reception - John Devine, Dominic and Martin (waiter),in the restaurant. This hotel is only 5 minutes walk (literally) from the hustle and bustle of Galway city centre where you will find some great pubs etc. if I was trying to construct a complaint about this hotel the answer is NO!!!!!!! Both my wife and myself would have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel and further to this WILL go back and stay here again.

Room Tip: The one thing about the bedrooms and this is a positive rather than negative, the beds are the most comfortable that I have ever slept in.

If you are on a business trip and just need a place to stay, this is fine, but it is not the place to stay if you are on a pleasure trip. The hotel needs to be refurbished and modernized. The carpet is dismal - a dark brown with some beige lines in it. In many places it is stained and nothing has been done about it. There were cracks in the bathroom floor of my room which were quite unseemly. I just got a very rundown feeling staying there.

The people at the front desk were lovely and I had no problems with service. It just looks like this hotel has definitely seen better days and is a bit down on its luck. I dined at the hotel restaurant because it was raining heavily outside and I didn't want to walk around. It was pretty empty and the food is mediocre at best. I was with my 17 month old grandson and at 7PM, the cook agreed to make him scrambled eggs, which was very nice of him. The waiter was very nice, but service was slow, even though the place was empty.

I would look elsewhere if you want a hotel that is aesthetically pleasing and modernized. If you just need a night's sleep, this is fine. The environs of the hotel are not pleasing. In the back is a coal refinery and you can hear the trucks roaring by. On the plus side, it is a short walk to town to get to shops and restaurants. Definitely not a place for a romantic getaway or a place for families. This is a place for the not-so-fussy.

Room Tip: Ask for a room without cracked tiles in the bathroom or ask for a room that has been freshened up a bit.

The hotel is a 3-5 minute walk into the city center. The hotel staff is very nice and helpful. They set up transportation for us in the morning. They even served a late night cap after the bars was closed.
