The Harbour Hotel far exceeded our expectations as a convenient place to stay in Galway. The location was excellent - just a five minute walk to the city center. We arrived early in the am and, of course, it was too early for the rooms to be ready but the hotel staff told us to go into the dining room and to take advantage of the breakfast being served. The rooms were clean and bright. One young woman at the reception desk, whose name is pronounced Alva although spelled very differently in the Gaelic, was particularly attentive to our needs. When expected transportation did not show up on time, she helped tremendously with contacting the carriage company and arranged for tea or coffee to be served to us while waiting. She was also an excellent source of information on entertainment in the area. The restaurant was excellent, breakfast very complete and the one dinner we ate there was delicious and fairly priced. We would happily stay here again.

We stayed here in September as a birthday treat (2 adults/4kids)and had a great time. Less then 5 minutes walk to city centre. We had inter connecting rooms which was great with the kids. The staff were very helpful both in reception and the restaurant. There was a good spread for breakfast and it catered for all of us, especially the kids. Rooms were a good size.
Had stayed here before but first time to bring the family and would recommend for anyone wanting to be close to city centre.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our trip to Ireland. We had asked for an early checkin and they gladly took our 35 Euros but did not let us checkin until 1 PM - only 2 hours early. They added on lots of extras - like 10 Euros for parking etc. The room was very hot and stuffy. There was no AC so we asked for a fan. The fan was literally 6 inches across and was useless. Breakfast was good, especially the porridge and the location close to town is great. The road noise was another drawback. We won't be back.

Rooms don't exactly have scenic views, but you are in walking distance from the Latin Quarter and yet away from the noise of late night drinkers (not the case in Jury's Inn!). Rooms had comfortable beds, etc. Breakfast is a buffet - perfectly adequate. Didn't eat here otherwise, so can't comment on dinner quality & service - go to Kirwan's! Staff were very friendly. One of my parties had her car damaged in the car park and no CCTV to prove who did it - so be careful where you park.

We were traveling as part of a group and had booked dinner in the restaurant. It took 30 minutes to get our starters and another 40 minutes after that for our entrees to appear. When they did, it was obvious the food had spent a lot of time under heat lamps as it was overdone and dry. Our room also did not impress as it was small, overheated, and stuffy. The frame for the bed made creaking noises with even the slightest movement. The convenient location is the main plus for this hotel.

I've never actually stayed here, but I often go in when I'm in Galway because they have a really great chowder. So much fish in it! I always find the staff really friendly too. I enjoy tasting chowders and this has got to be one of the best in Ireland. The hotel is very central and being by the harbour I'd say it's a nice place to stay too

This hotel is in a very noisy location and I had booked a upgraded room. The room was tiny, hot and noisy. Not nice at all.we complained and got moved. Although the new room was a little nicer and a bit bigger was still very average. The food at the hotel was ok, staff not too bad.it was on,y a five minute walk to Galway central so that was a plus. Not overly impressed for what I paid.
