This hotel is nothing special, and we were very disappointed to be orginally given room 134, over looking the underground car park entrance and beside the huge ventilation system. It was the most depressing hotel room I had ever seen in a so called 3star hotel. We sat in the room for no more than ten mins before asking to move to another room. The staff were extrememly accommodating and pleasant as I'd imagine it wasn't the first complaint they received.

The lack of air conditioning is the worst thing as the rooms are really stuffy.

As other viewers have pointed out, this is a hub for hen parties, but overall a grand place to stay if you plan to go out til late everynight - not a place for a quiet, romantic weekend away. I would only stay here again if there was nothing else available (the reason we stayed in the first place).

Just back from a fun night stay in Galway. My first choice is always to stay at the Harbour Hotel. The staff are so lovely and welcoming and have more than once accommodated my special requests. It's in perfect walking distance from the town so you can park up for the duration, no taxi fares. I can't say enough nice things about this hotel, comfortable spacious bedrooms and bathrooms with tea and coffee always a must, fabulous breakfast and again what makes a good hotel experience the epic friendly staff.

All in all a good weekend. Thought the price was abit expensive.
Food was really nice had lunch in the bar and dinner in the resturant both were 8/10
Loved the rooms the linen on the beds were to die for and spoltless clean.

The staff is great...
Specially Tina, Alfie and Siobhan they were AMAZING..!!!

Every hotel should have employees like them.

The hotel stays really close from Down town and is really save to go to bars and night clubs only walking..

I recommend new guest to have dinner on the hotel as well the food is really good and not that expensive.

The room was adequate, but nothing special. The wifi service had to be constantly logging in and was a unique user id and password. Annoying process. The room view was over the back garage. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.

we love the Harbour Hotel in Galway, its ideally situated just about 5 minutes walk into shop street.
the staff are really lovely, so helpful and friendly, we stay here regularly when we come to Galway.
Tina who works in the restaurant (I think she is the manager, if not she should be ! ) is such a lovely girl and really good at her job, she has recognized us the past 3 times we stayed here, thats really nice and meant a lot to us, and she looked after us so well on our last visit in March this year (2014) The food is the best, served beautifully, and plenty to choose from, the fish and chips is fabulous, even down to the way it is served in the Harbour Hotel, comes out on a dish that looks like a boat, their bar food is equally delicious. Its a pleasure to come stay in the Harbour and i'm sure if you give it a try, you'll love it too !

Room Tip: we have stayed in many of the rooms, you really couldn't fault any of them, there's one over...

Just returned from a wonderful stay in The Harbour Hotel. There were sixteen ladies in total and we all had a great time. The staff at the reception, restraunt and bar were all so pleasant and helpful. We had a cocktail class with Simon who was great and facilitated the non-drinkers in our group. We had a three course meal that was beautiful. Two girls working in the restaurant helped me decorate the table as a surprise for my friend which was lovely. I stayed in a triple room and there was plenty of space and the beds were very comfortable. one of the girls in our group left her purse in the reception on checkout and a really kind member of staff actually drove to the train station to give it back to her!
The location of the hotel is brilliant. Eyre Square is a five minute walk away.
Overall we had a great time here and I will be back for sure. The only negative I had was that there was no instruction on how to use the shower head in the bath so I had to ring reception. Also the room was very hot because the radiator was on full blast. As it was a triple room and the window only opened a tiny it bit it took ages for it to cool down once I turned it off. It was a really mild weekend so I don't think the radiator should have been turned up so high.
