Charming hostess Celine is a walking encyclopedia of information about things to do in and around Galway. Our en suite accommodations were very comfortable. (Make sure Celine knows ahead of time if you do not prefer to climb stairs.) The breakfast she serves was enough food to last us into the afternoon when we generally stopped at a pub for early dinner. Celine also was able to supply us with ferry tickets to travel to the Aran Islands so there was no need to make an extra stop to purchase these.

We arrived in Salthill outside of Galway at the Marian Lodge. Mrs. Malloy was very warm. Showed us our room & made us tea. We went to a couple of dinners in the area over the course of our stay. Mrs. Malloy was able to book our Cliffs of Moher, and Aran Island tours for us.
Would recommend this guesthouse to other travelers.

Arriving at Marian Lodge after battling with Galway 5.00pm traffic, we received a superb welcome from Celine from the outset. She showed us to our room which was spacious to say the least and we wanted for nothing. With the seafront and promenade "minutes" walk from here it is an ideal location for a leisure break with everything you could wish for after starting the day with a perfect breakfast selection served personally by Celine. Her attention to detail in her lovely home made Marian Lodge a most enjoyable Irish experience.

This was our 5th Bed and Breakfast stay in Ireland and we found all of them hospital, friendly and delightful, but I would rank the Marian Lodge Guesthouse as our favorite. The rooms were spacious, most had one large plus a single. We had a room on the top floor with a skylight looking out over the ocean. I like to get a good shower in the morning and this one was brand new with lots of water pressure – a great way to begin the day. Celine, our hostess, was most hospitable and a great cook – her homemade Irish bread recipe is unbeatable. It was a joy to be in her dining room each morning. She gave us great tips on catching the boat to the islands and had tickets for us. After two weeks of travel we were ready for a quieter location, not to mention the joy of being by the sea; and yet, everything is still very accessible and there are some excellent restaurants nearby, so you don't have to go back downtown. We found the bar in the Hotel 12 just a mile away to have superb food and service, and was reasonably priced though it was upscale. Thank-you Celine! Brian & Emily Morgan from California

Room Tip: We loved room #9 on the top floor - overlooking the sea and quiet.

We stayed for a weekend break in a twin room. The room was very spacious and comfortable and had a great nights sleep. Celine was an excellent hostess and we found her very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. Her homemade bread was amazing and we picked up some very helpful tips from her about the area in general. We would definitely stay again and I would highly recommend to anybody looking for comfort, genuine hospitality and value for money.
