“Nice walk”
Reviewed 22 February 2013

Good place for a walk during the sunset. A pleasant view and lot of people walking and cycling. A traditional place in Galway.

“I mean the walk by the river Corrib”
Reviewed 3 September 2012

It is just beautiful, the walk goes from Lough Corrib (the lake just north of the City, to the shores of Galway bay several miles west of the city. You walk along the river that is just georgeous, it is fast flowing with clear rushing water all along by where the old medieval city walls once were, then you cross over the river and continue your rambles or brisk walk all along the promenade, off out to Mutton island and back again and then off to the far western side of the blackrock diving tower for your seaside walk. You would be daft not to stop and have a chat and a laugh at the diving tower where lots of people of all ages go for a dive or a jump into the sea at high tide. You just check the times of high tide on the web and time your walk or dive for that. A lot of young people wear wetsuits and the older tougher people are just used to the bracing Atlantic
