My husband found this shop online and wanted an original Claddagh ring from the original designer of this style of ring. The sales lady was helpful and extremely knowledgable and made the sale! My husband loves his new ring!

This is the place to go for your authentic Claddagh ring. Very helpful and friendly. Other interesting items as well. Purchased a trinity knot necklace as well.

I`m a big fan of Maureen O`Hara and new some of the history of Galway in the filming of the Quiet Man, so stopping at Dillon`s, the original makers of the Claddagh ring was almost a must while in Galway. The shop itself was iteresting but I enjoyed the small museum in back. Anyone that is interested in history will enjoy reading how the seemingly simple gold ring has survived and thrived through the passing of time. It also gives a pretty good account of Galway`s history as well. The museum is free and worth a stop in while shopping in Galway.

Visited in June 2012. I went into Thomas Dillon's to purchase a claddagh ring but enjoyed the mini Claddagh ring museum in the back of the store. It details the history of the claddagh ring and in doing so, the history of the Galway area. Of course, it was a little cheesy and not a proper museum. If you are interested in the history of the Claddagh ring, which is prevalent throughout Galway, this is a nice place for a stop. No entrance fee in June 2012 and no line. The staff was very nice. The store also sells beautiful jewelry if interested. To see the museum I would recommend about 10-15 minutes. Its located just in the back of the shop.
