Great place for a romantic dinner. The atmosphere and friendly staff made for an enjoyable evening. The food was outstanding! Locally sourced and flavourful. Also, much less expensive than some of the higher rated restaurants in Galway.

Kai is a small eclectic restaurant with good local foods. They had a reasonable wine list and the owners worked hard serving the tables. The lamb chops were good; perhaps a bit tough and the sauce was a bit of the traditional mint type...might have been more creative to have a different type of sauce. The strip steak also comes from a local farm and had good flavor, but again was a bit tough. The food is priced on the high side compared to other top restaurants we ate at in Galway. All in all a good meal and a nice time on another rainy night in Galway.

Busy cafe with 4 items on offer for lunch, all appealing. The attention to detail is great here; lovely, well- dressed salads &homemade brown bread accompanied the locally sourced meat and fish meals. The goats cheese salad with roasted nectarines and smoked almonds (and much more) was just sensational. I was thinking about it for days! The service was truly excellent and the cakes and baking were delicious. Perfect flat whites and a lovely Nz sav.

In a cosy place with recycled stuffs like decoration. You can eat with a open sky thanks to a glass roof.
There're 5 dishes proposed all original ,diferents and made with local food. Desserts are crazy too and the ginger organic beer delicious.

We will go there each time we will be in Galway.

Ate at Kai (Maori for food) tonight. The best! Beautifully presented food, almost too good to eat. I had the crab entree - served in a lovely preserving jar followed by the hake with puy lentils and roast cherry tomatoes. So good. There was also a nice basil mayo type sauce which went perfectly with it. My husband had the smoked mackerel (I had a taste and it was yum) and he had the steak - 2 inches thick and cooked superbly. It was soooo good. Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant. The service was superb, very attentive. Left with a full pukku :)
