“Great Choice in Galway”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2014

We stayed for two nights in May and this delightful B&B worked very well for us. We arrived by bus, which we caught right at the train station downtown. We were dropped off right in front of Cappa Veagh. You can't beat that!

The property is a quick walk from the promenade which features fine old pubs, a selection of restaurants and the Aquarium if you're looking for a bit of diversion. It's not impossible to walk all the way into Galway and it's an interesting jaunt. You can take the seaside route or go cross country through residential streets.

As noted by others, the service is first rate, personal and friendly. Breakfast is superb. A great choice in Galway.

Room Tip: Quiet street. Not to worry.

We apparently hadn't done a close enough check of the address because we probably would not have booked this B&B. But our delightful hosts greeted us with delicious scones and tea and made us feel very welcome. It was only a short drive to the water with a choice of several restaurants. The house itself was very lovely and spotlessly clean. Our room was a bit on the small size but adequate for the night. The breakfast was very good and served elegantly.

Pat and Catherine are wonderful and very accommodating; very helpful in making reservations or assisting in making changes as needed. Breakfast is excellent, we highly recommend the porridge. The B&B is out of the city center just enough to provide a quiet, restful stay yet close enough that you are never far from the fun.

this place was a treat. the people who ran it were gracious hosts, generous with their time and resources, and tended to my every need. plus, the breakfasts were huge and delicious. the room and en suite bathroom were a blessing after a long day out in the cold, and there's a small supermarket about 30 seconds away if you need something but don't want to walk down the hill into town. a fabulous B&B to stay in.

We stayed for one night to attend a gig in Salthill. Cathy and Pat made us more than welcome in their gorgeous B&B.

Cappa Veagh was is well present and spotlessly clean. Our room (1) was fabulous, with a great view of the well tended garden below. The bed was amazingly comfortable and both my partner and remarked that we had had the best nights sleep in ages!

The location is great with just a ten minute walk to the promenade and regular bus service into Galway City.

Cathy herself was the chef for breakfast on Sunday morning and without doubt should win awards for her delicious meal!

We have already decided to visit again in the summer with extended family

Thanks again for such a friendly and professional welcome!

We arrived at the Cappa Veagh B&B late during the week after traveling from Dublin with our family of 6 and were pleased to be greeted by our host, Pat. He was the consummate proprietor, very proud of the B&B that he and his wife had built, and very pleasant to spend our stay with. The Cappa Veagh is extremely well appointed, neat, clean, quiet and all that we had hoped for in a B&B after spending the previous 5 nights in typical US and European hotels within Cork and Dublin. We needed a change and luckily we chose the Cappa Veagh. Before we left to spend the next morning and day in Galway, we were pleasantly greeted by our host who prepared us a wonderful full breakfast where we chose our meal from the daily menu. A great start to the day with healthy portions to tide us over into midday. This B&B is a must stay for those traveling in the area and we have gladly recommended it to our family and friends in the US! Our son even mentioned that he'll be coming back the next time he visits Ireland! We couldn't have asked for a better B&B, and the price was very reasonable.

We recent stayed at Cappa Veagh B&B and really enjoyed our stay there. The rooms were modern and immaculate, the beds comfortable and the breakfast was delicious, especially Catherine's special porridge. Pat & Catherine were friendly and accommodating. I would strongly recommend it.
