I was welcomed at the hotel with the question: " Could I have your credit card please?"
Also on later occasions and with different staff members, I noticed as well that there is a focus on cash rather than customer wellbeing.
Room was spacious and comfortable, but window was broken and noise from the street came in till late.
Location is conveniently close to the city center and view on the bay is great.
Though I would probably stay here again for convenience, the hotel lacks any charm or reference to Galway and could just as well have been anywhere else.

This is a modern, well-appointed hotel within easy walking distance of Eyre Square, bus office, railway station, etc.

The staff are excellent - well-trained and professional - and overall, the service is great.

So why is this review rating the hotel as "Very Good" rather than "Excellent"? Well, the Table d'Hote dinner was quite mixed. The starters were bland, and the vegetables were not hot enough and a little underdone. Also, while the array and choice of food at the breakfast buffet was absolutely first class, some of the traditional "hot" breakfast items ... well they weren't actually hot. Also, if you're on a "value" break, chances are that you won't be allocated one of the better rooms.

Overall, the Radisson Blu in Galway is a very good hotel and is ideally located for both business and pleasure visits to the City of the Tribes.

We are not usually ones to stay in 'western' hotels in Europe, but we're glad we made this exception. Our room had THE largest king sized bed we've ever seen, a wonderful bathroom, a beautiful view out our window and the staff was excellent. What more could anyone want? We walked about 2 blocks to a highly recommended pub, so it was convenient as well as luxurious.
It was easy to find and the breakfast buffet was huge--and delicious.

This is a lovely hotel in a great central location
Free parking and wifi
Great breakfast, bars,and staff
The problem is they increase their price two to fourfold if the races are on or a big festival
If you get a good price it's great

Easily the best I have stayed in. The location is great. Just behind the centre of town. We had an apartment, which really was perfect for our family. Would definitely stay here again. Hard to fault in any way.

We stayed here for the Ulster Galway rugby. We got a good deal on a suite. Really fantastic room, great views of the Lough and Galway bay. The suite came with complimentary wine and water, also a fruit bowl, We didn't eat in the hotel so we can't comment on the food. Galway itself is a great city, very compact. I look forward to my next visit to Galway and my next stay in the Radisson Blu, highly recommended.

Room Tip: The suites are fantastic, especially if you can get a good deal.

Great location beside the heart of the old city. Rooms, we had a double are spacious and of an excellent standard. Breakfast is very good on the whole with everything you could expect of a major chain. Lifts were limited and temperamental, the 'wing' we stayed in a hike to the foyer and bars etc. That said would I stay there again... absolutely.
