Just back from our second stay at this wonderful hotel. Location is great, parked up car and didnt have to use for the weekend. Parking priced at 5e per night so good value. Hotel just few minutes walk from train/bus station and Eyre Square. Good selection of Breakfast food and meal in restaurant very good. Room clean, warm and comfortable. Two small issues immediately rectified. Will return again.

Looking for a hotel to stay in Galway during our roadtrip in Ireland, we stumbled across this in the corporate directory. It turned out to offer a lot more than the usual chain hotel selection - comfortable and clean room with amazing beds (water pressure in ensuite could be improved upon), Spa with outdoor hot-tub and amazing breakfast selection. Add brilliant service (receptionists went above and beyond the usual) to that.
A definite recommendation if you're looking for a conveniently located hotel that guarantees certain standards.

Having travelled from the north Antrim coast to Galway via Derry, Sligo, Wesport and Clifden we were ready for some hotel comforts and this hotel didn't disappoint. Beautifully clean and comfortable rooms, great outdoor hot tub and amazing breakfast selection. Would definitely recommend this place. Location relatively central - but probably a more realistic 10 mins walk to the centre of town than the advertised 5 mins. Be sure to use the spa and outdoor hot tub and get up for breakfast!!! Great selection of hot and cold food will set you up for the day. Very friendly and helpful staff at the reception desk.

We were a party of 5 men who stayed in the hotel recently. We were allocated a twin and a triple which had a camp bed. Needless to say the quality of sleep for that person and those sharing the room was compromised to say the least.
However having complained next morning the hotel deserve enormous credit for the way in which they handled the situation. Indeed they have gone so far as to say we will return again without hesitation. Well done to all concerned and while I was a little embarrassed to relay my feelings you have been totally professional in dealing with it......

Happy Christmas to all you wonderful hard working staff.

Room Tip: If its a triple room ensure it does not contain a camp bed!!!

My girlfriend and I spent a recent Saturday night at the Radisson Blu.

The location of the hotel is not quite as central as others, but it's still a very good location, with easy walking access to everything you'd want to see and do. (We had been walking for two days, so we were ready to relax.)

We arrived too early for check-in, but the staff was happy to hold our luggage until check-in time. The reception staff is very good. Very, very professional and helpful. We decided to wile the time away in the hotel bar, while we waited for check-in time.

The bar has fantastic views, comfy chairs, and a modern type open fireplace. Very cozy. You can order soups and sandwiches in the bar, and relax fireside (if you're lucky enough to snag a seat by the fireplace) while looking out of a staggering amount of floor-to-ceiling windows.

Check-in was very efficient. We were assigned Rm 245 and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the room. The room (a standard double room) was large. The bed was huge (and comfortable). The room was nicely furnished and decorated, (albeit, with an ever-so-slightly corporate feel), and very cozy.

The bathroom was large, bright, and very clean. The water pressure in the shower was outstanding.

Still fighting jet-lag, we decided to take a quick nap. 4 hours later we woke up, and decided to go downstairs for a drink. There was a guy playing the piano and singing in the bar - Sean. Sean was awesome - Fantastic ability on the keys, amazing vocals, and a catalog of songs that kept everyone in the bar singing to their hearts content, and kept the women dancing until their legs fell off.

The bar staff is really very good - Very friendly and attentive, and on a Saturday night, they'll keep the drinks pouring until 4:00 for hotel guests, if you choose to do so. We chose to do just that. Plenty of people hanging out. Lively conversation to be had. Sadly, Sean stopped playing around midnight. He had been packing up to leave at 11:00, but was forced by the crowd to play encore after encore. (I counted 8 "last songs", and 3 "okay, this really has to be the last one".)

The next morning met us with pounding heads, and a very "swimmy" planet. The breakfast buffet turned out to be the perfect cure. The buffet has plenty of options. I will admit that the breakfast was a little pricey, but I happily paid for it.

Check-out was slow, but to be fair, everyone (including us) seemed to wait until the very last minute to check-out. The hotel was fairly full the night before, so checking out on a Sunday at noon was probably not our best idea. Nevertheless, the reception staff remained incredibly professional during the entire process.

We did not avail ourselves to an spa services, but did hear great things about it from some of our new friends in the bar.

The Radisson Blu is a great hotel with a great staff.

We organised our Christmas staff party in the function room and had a few issues. When booking our table we confirmed that we wanted to be on the same table which we were told would not be an issue. Upon collecting the tickets again confirmed that we would be at one table but then on the evening our party was split into 2. The wait staff helped as much as possible pushing 2 tables together but it just didn't work!! The band were very good and the food was edible but all in all would not go back to another function there.
