“Nice property, great breakfast”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

I recently stayed at this hotel for two nights. The lobby and restaurant are modern, spacious, and nicely decorated. The room was clean and good-sized. One of the twin beds was broken and lop-sided. The bathroom had a shower/tub combo that was average sized. There was ample counter space in the bathroom. The desk and chair in the room were comfortable. The hallways were quiet and clean. The breakfast offered in the restaurant was never ending! The service in the restaurant was top notch too. Overall, I recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

In my opinion your holiday/break starts when you set foot in the hotel and the mood is set with your first interaction with front of house staff. In our case , arriving on friday 4th of July after a 3.5 hours drive , we were met by a gentleman at reception that dealt with us with what best could be described as contempt.
We also required a change to our room and his response was both unprofessional and condescending .
While our room was being adjusted, we went to the bar where again the Bar staff acted in a very unprofessional manner. All you ask of anyone in hospitality is politeness and professionalism, we received neither in the bar.
Its not all bad, the room was clean and comfortable and housekeeping staff were very friendly. The staff at breakfast were warm , friendly and accommodating both mornings.
Its a great location if you want to experience Galway City , the energy is electric.
I would hurry back to Galway but not to the Radisson .

Room Tip: There was a wedding on both nights we stayed. The sound travels , not a huge issue for us, However c...

Just back from a three nights stay at the Raddison
Blu & we cannot say enough positive things about this hotel. We were greeted by a lovely friendly receptionist who was really assertive in her job. We were truly delighted with the room we
were allocated plus the thoughtful extras. We ate all our evening meals in the hotel - the first evening in the bar, where we were served by a lovely team & the other evenings in the restaurant. Our first meal in the restaurant impressed us so much that the idea of eating out didn't even enter our minds for the next night. Breakfast was lovely with plenty to choose from. There was a very impressive fireworks display on Saturday night which was over before midnight. We watched this from our bedroom window. We have both said we have never slept in such a comfortable bed and there was no noise disturbance. The convenience of this hotel to the city centre speaks for itself. We would like to say a very special thank you to Micéal. We will have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to our friends and we will definitely be back.

Stayed at this lovely hotel for 2 nights. Perfect room with a giant double bed. Excellent facilities. Swimming pool and outside jacuzzi a great treat. A 5 minute walk to Galway centre. Secure parking 5euros a day. Good buffet breakfast. Friendly staff. Would I stay here again? Most definitely.

Our rooms were located in the East wing which is a bit of a hike from the lobby. Rooms were very clean and spacious. Staff was very helpful in giving directions for walking into town and when we returned in the evening were able to sit on the porch and enjoy and drink. We opted for the breakfast on booking and was a large well varied breakfast buffet. I would recommend this hotel for a Galway stay. Only problem (and was standard throughout our trip) is that most hotel don't have AC and fortunately for us our Ireland stay was warm and sunny so the rooms were a bit warm.

Room Tip: We stayed in the East wing and the rooms were modern but a bit of a hike from the main hotel

stayed here again on an overnight. this time i only had one lift to get me to the room from reception, so no getting lost looking for lifts this time round! lovely room, lovely hotel, friendly staff. only downside was somebody beeping a car horn repeatedly outside hotel reception in the morning, couldn't see if it was an alarm going off or someone messing about......annoying

The location of the hotel is good. Walking distance to the city centre and easy access to roads leading out of the city.

This hotel is very dated and in need of a revamp. The floors have seen better days, furniture int he public areas have signs of ageing, and the wooden frame around our bathroom door has been rotten away around the edges. The chairs in the ground floor restaurant are very stained.
The hallway doors bang very loudly and can be heard all through the night.

The room was nice and clean but the mini bar was empty and the TV was old and of poor picture quality. The bathroom was on the small side and again very old and outdated.

The bed was huge but the mattress was very hard, so this might not be ideal for everyone. It is great if you like sleeping on your back but can get very uncomfortable if you are a side sleeper.

The lifts are awful. There are only two lifts in a rather large hotel that serve the restaurant, bedrooms, lobby, and two car park levels. Not surprising it is not always easy to get a lift. We had to wait long every time we tried to get into the hotel from the car park, once it took a full 10 minutes for a lift to pick us up at level -2.

The car park is not included in the price and will cost you 5 Euro per night and requires to go to reception with your ticket each time before you want to drive out of the car park to avoid paying the public prices.

Breakfast buffet had a lot of variety, from cooked foods to cereal, bread, fresh juices and fruits. The coffee is not recommendable though, opt for the tea instead.

We were never asked for feedback at checkout or if we enjoyed our stay.

This hotel is one of the pricier ones in the area and I can’t see how it warrants the higher prices. I would not recommend this hotel.
