“Great Pub, food, and entertainment”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 September 2013

An excellent pub in Galway. It was recommended to me by an Irish friend from Galway. The pork chops were excellent and the staff very friendly. There was a 2 man band and Mystic Force Irish traditional dancers on hand for entertainment. One of our favorite pubs during our visit to Ireland. Would go back.

“Classic Trad Pub !!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 September 2013

This was our very first pub stop in Ireland and we werent disappointed. It was located directly across from our hotel and is within a block from Eyre Square....great location. We didnt have a meal there but were drawn in by the great music we heard. The place was packed and the trad music was wonderful. A lovely irish gentleman offered me his stool at the bar so I had a great view of musicians. A perfect experience to start our trip !

“Good music”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 September 2013

Good beer, good fish and chips (or shepherd's pie), but most of all, good music.

This pub in the center of downtown Galway is half a block from Eire Square, and directly across the street from our hotel. So convenience is unequaled.

The sign out front says that music starts at 7:30pm. Our experience was that the timing was only approximate. One evening it was 8:00pm, the next was 9:00pm, with different groups each night. Be aware that there is a walled-off area just past the bar that has tables for diners in the early evening, but that becomes the performance stage later in the evening.

The place can be mobbed, and you may have to fight your way to the bar to pay your tab.
