“Lovely, peaceful stay”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

My husband and I were lucky enough to book the Salmon Weir room. What a delight. The room is spacious, with beautiful linens and a lovely view of the weir. The clawfoot tub was a perfect place to soak after a long day of sightseeing. A beautiful tea tray was set in front of the window that made us feel so welcome. Corrib House is within walking distance of many nice restaurants yet far enough removed that it is quiet and peaceful. We felt safe and secure in the area and had a wonderful night's sleep. Breakfast in the morning was delicious with lots of variety. Overall, a beautiful place to relax and refresh. We will definitely return next year!

Lorriane's welcoming smile set the tone for our two-day stay at Corrib House. In need of good Irish food and clean Irish air, we also found warm hospitality and beautiful, elegant ensuite bedrooms. Corrib House has an interesting history, is now a tea room with four bedrooms and I can't recommend it highly enough. Galway is a delightful little city and it shares with Corrib House the attribute of not being gussied-up for tourists in the way that so many city centres and hotels have been around the world. If you want to visit and stay in a place where people are genuinely interested in you and concerned that you enjoy your time, then Corrib House and Galway are for you.

Great location, walking distance from Eyre Square but so quiet and looking out at the water. We stayed in a superior room and it was beautiful, really peaceful. Breakfast was fabulous. Will definitely come back.

Corrib House is a lovely experience. Walking distance to the main 'old' Galway city, it is across from the weir and has water views. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms are beautifully maintained in a classic style and clean and spacious. The breakfast was lovely.

We spent two nights at Corrib House.
There are four rooms. The Salmon Weir and the Angler Rest are premium and have superb en suite facilities. The Corrib View had an en suite that us a wet room with shower which is really small - the wet room that is. It's a bathroom with a shower that kind if fills the room. The Corrib Princess has a bathroom the requires a traverse. It isn't en suite but we stayed three and haven that there are only four guest rooms the wonder to the bathroom was fine.
The linens were upscale as was the bed. All top drawer.
The breakfast allowed for individual choice and was very, very filling. The pancakes with maple infused Greek yogurt and fresh fruit compote our favourite.
Staff were the best of all the places that we stated in Ireland. Suggestions great. Friendly and helpful.

This has got to be the best place to stay in Galway. It is so close to the city, but in a quiet location along the Salmon Weir (with the gentle sound of the waterfall outside your window). The breakfasts were the best we had in Ireland...and maybe anywhere. The building is beautiful and tastefully decorated, with spacious rooms and a really comfy bed. Lorraine was a one-woman show, since they had closed for the day due to a funeral, but she wore all of her hats well (especially the chef's hat!). If it fits your budget go for it and if it doesn't you should consider splurging anyway (especially if you're looking for somewhere romantic).

Really beautiful Georgian House on the banks of the Salmon Weir just a few blocks off Eyre Square. The common areas and guest rooms were well appointed and gleaming. I had a room overlooking the river with a beautiful claw foot tub in a large bathroom with modern shower. Only 4 guest rooms in Corrib House so you feel like you have the house to yourself. David and Victoria were extremely welcoming and took excellent care of their guests. Breakfast menu was extensive and the food was fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend this guest house to anyone travelling around the Galway area. Unlike one of the earlier reviewers we found the area both safe and quiet. We walked along the river to our dinner reservation (recommended and made by David) and then back to the Corrib House via Eyre Square which made for a perfect evening.

Room Tip: The room called the Salmon Weir had a great view of the river and claw foot tub in a large modern ba...
