Imperial Hotel Galway

For my Mom's 80th birthday we planned a trip to Galway,Ireland to see her
Aunt and cousins. We choose the Imperial Hotel as it is centrally located
in Eyre Square, close to many shops and restaurants. There were a total
of 14 traveling in our party. The hotel was perfect for our needs.
The staff were so friendly and warm, the facility was clean, the food in the
restaurant was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Rooms basic ,dark and noisy
location ideal for city centre
parking o other side of Eyre square, have your ticket validated ,there is a 10 euro charge per day for parking ,when raised with staff ,we were told 'it says so on the website ' end of any discussion, terrible customer service!
This hotel has large amounts of hens/stags groups on the weekend so beware!

Room Tip: make sure you insist air conditioning is switched on when you check in!controlled from reception

This is a clean and very centrally located hotel. If you get a deal on it, and don't plan to hang out there much, it's a good value.

Oddly, we had one Full size and one twin mattress? Ireland is like that sometimes.

The staff is pleasant enough and doesn't judge you if you come back after the doors are locked.

The breakfast provided was not quite up to snuff with some of the other places, but it was a decent continental and the room is clean and well-staffed.

Room Tip: Try to be in the front: hallways are long.

We spent there 4 nights in total. The hotel is really centric, and given that touristic Galway is not that big that was a good thing. Right in front, there is the tourist office and the bus and train station are quite close, 5 min walk.

However, the room was noisy, because of some installations that the building in front had. Even at night, with the windows closed, you could hear the noise. Also, the beds were not too comfortable (the mattresses a bit old) and the breakfast was quite poor. There was nothing warm to eat, and there was just one employee working there who managed to stay in the middle of the way and never step aside everytime you wanted coffee, or something to eat.

This hotel is in city center, in the exact center of Galway, great to visit the city.
The hotel provides a 10euros rate for 24H in a private parking nearby. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast is a continental buffet (not irish) and is ok (not plenty of choice, but ok if you spend just the night there). It is served until 11am, which is very good to have a nice sleep on a Saturday morning! The receptionist was lovely and he found 2 rooms on a Friday night for us without having booked before ! Really nice stay for one-night in Galway, we will be back in our way to Connemara! We slept with windows opened and it was completely fine (rooms 341 and 342) even if the Hotel is in the city center.

We stayed at the Imperial Hotel for one night while we were in Galway, during the Galway Arts Festival. The hotel was nice, clean, and quiet. Good place to stay if you are looking for something right in the center of everything in Galway. The only problem was parking. There is no parking near the hotel. We had to use a parking deck a few blocks away. Overall, deal is great, and would stay again.
