Would happily stay here again, IF they changed one little thing. The noise!! The rooms were clean, perfect location, very spacious, comfy bed, reception staff very friendly, iron and ironing board in room, hair dryer, in general fantastic hotel - except.. The walls are paper thin. Our lovely neighbours kept us awake all night , we heard everyhing. Then in the morning, the cleaners are EXTREMELLY LOUD!!! They talk loud, shout, bang, right outside the door from early in the morning. I know rooms have to be cleaned early etc, but there is no need for the noise level of these guys, especially considering how every little noise seems to travel into the rooms. Cleaners need a good talking to!

Otherwise, a great stay :)

Room Tip: A soundproof one!

We stayed here on a Saturday, had a double room which was really spacious& very clean. the room came with an ironing board &iron. Big double bed & had a great nights sleep. Bathroom was spacious & clean. The staff were friendly & helpful. Parking was only few mins walk. Breakfast was well laid out with plenty to offer. Would recommend as great location for shops & pubs within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay here.

Stayed here with a group af business associates on a Fri, Sat nights. Room was comfortable well appointed and air conditioned. Bathroom was large clean and cointained a bidet. The breakfast was only continental with meat cheese tray, asst.cereal and pastry's. Great location in the center of town, which was also a problem for some members of our party. Both nights the partying in the streets went well into 4 AM. The noise created problems for some of our group. With the window closed and air running (in Oct) the noise was not to bad for us.

Room Tip: Ask fo a room away from the street

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel but it definitely had its up and downs.

Pros - GREAT location in the middle of the city, easy walking distance to many shops and pubs. Comfortable bed, clean room. We had a fun view of the city.

Cons - Parking is tough - the garage is a bit of a hike from the hotel and even with the hotel discount is quite pricey. Breakfast was rather chaotic and not very good.

On staying at the Imperial hotel with four friends for a weekend last month (September ) I had the unfortunate and worrying experience of having an expensive Armani jumper stolen from my room. I distinctly remember the jumper was on the spare bed prior to going down to breakfast on the Saturday morning, when returning to the room 45 minutes later the beds were made and the room had been cleaned. Unfortunately I did not realize that my Armani jumper was missing until our departure early on Sunday morning. I spoke to the hotel manager about the theft prior to our departure. Hotel CCTV cameras did not reveal anything other than the fact that the only people to enter our room was the housekeeper and another Manager. I explained to the hotel manager that the only people to have taken my jumper would have been the staff!! We seemed to be very unfortunately because my other colleague had his leather jacket stolen from the residence bar the night before. After bringing both incidents to the attention of the hotel manager no compensation was offered for the thefts! and to our disgust the leather jacket and Armani jumper were never found or returned!

I have stayed in many hotels all over the world and luckily have never experienced any theft of any sort from my room. When in Galway town in the future we will be staying at an alternative hotel, it was disgraceful as to how this incident was handled by the hotel Manager.

I would advise any other travelers to consider alternative hotels to the Imperial, because both thefts spoilt what was otherwise an enjoyable weekend with friends.

Room Tip: Central and great location, but I would suggest that you pick another hotel if you value you propert...

The room was small and crowded but clean and comfortable. The view was a trash alley but it was not loud. The place is a little worn. Carpets could use repair/replacing. Staff was very nice and breakfast was excellent.

For the same price in Dublin, we stayed in some very nice hotels. This was more the small rooms that we expected to find in Ireland.

Room Tip: We were very far back, but it was quiet. There were a few steps that we had to drag our luggage up...

First and foremost, it is extremely important for any potential guest to remember that this is Ireland and not the US. Some negative remarks about many hotels about the need for updating is pretentious as almost all buildings in Ireland are old and this is their way of life in general. Do not compare to US hotels. With that being said, buy the special adapter before your trip, which is needed to plug in your electronics. Outlets are different, hot and cold faucets are reversed, etc.

Very high step to get into the tubs to take a shower. This particular shower head ran the water extremely low. They do not have a fan in the bathroom to help with the condensation. Convenient safe in the room.

Staff is pleasant and accommodating. The hotel is mostly clean and mostly well kept. They have wifi throughout the hotel. Due to high costs of everything over there, we were very respectful of their utilities. I was a little disappointed with details that were missed when it came to cleanliness in the bathroom. Very minor, but that was why they were marked down slightly.

For some reason, we were unable to shut off the one heat source, which made the room slightly too warm over time. We opened a window and the AC wall unit worked just fine.

FYI, most hotels in Ireland do NOT have air conditioning due to their climate. It doesn't get hot enough to really warrant AC.

I traveled with my sister and mother. The hotel was very accommodating by making sure we had 3 separate beds in our room. They have coffee, tea, hair dryer, milk, sugar, shampoo/body wash, iron and TV.

The halls go dark at night to save on electricity, but movement brings the lights back on. There are stairs in areas that could be difficult for someone with a handicap. (No ramp.) The elevator is extremely slow and the stairs to each floor are not all together. Be sure to figure out how to find each set of stairs for each floor in case of emergency.

Very small lobby. Great centralized place to stay so you can just walk out and explore the city. Great area of restaurants, shops, etc., with no cars allowed.
