I stayed for one night with five friends. Had to queue to check in, error with our booking, couldn't check in until after 3.30pm, check in took about 20 mins, had long walk to room, room not very clean, iron didn't work, no air con or fans available, waited 25 mins for bucket of ice to be delivered to room...only sent up 1/2 bucket, bath towels very small, wi-fi too weak to use, constant noise of some unit outside our window, reception staff, apart from one girl, not pleasant or helpful, locked out of room at 12.08pm on day of check out even though we couldn't check in on the previous day until after 3.30pm, no fridge in room, room very old fashioned. Overall...I will never stay there again or recommend this hotel to anybody!!!

Average is what I'd say about this hotel, think it has to be the first hotel in Ireland I've stayed with no air conditioning. In this instance I'll forgive, it's an older building and the weather is unusual! The good at the bar was very nice, breakfast was so so. Bar was lively. The service and staff are friendly and helpful. Remember this is a family friendly hotel do expect to hear the odd wail of a babyAt least there was no children running around the place unsupervised, which tends to happen in some places. Saying that the variety of people staying was vast! Our room was average but clean. Our friend's room was in another part of the hotel and they found it very noisy, cause by a generator. There is ample parking but beware the european tour buses coming and going! No problem getting a taxi from outside the hotel.

We stayed in a twin room with our 10 month baby.

Before arrival I asked for a quiet room and was amazed at the lovely room we had. No noise at all, even though it is school hollies and the hotel is fully booked I could not hear any wild child screaming down the corridor.

Our room was no.2006 and if we had paid an extra 30 Euro per night we could have the use of the adjacent sitting room, but we did not think it was needed as the room was big enough. A king size bed and a single plus cot.

No hairdryer, fridge, sleepers, robe and no air conditioner. It was very hot outside so we were roasting in the room. The next day we found a fan on d corridor and the porter brought it to our room....great customer care!!!!

We only had food in the bar and it was lovely! Staff were super helpful.

The swimming pool was very nice. Our baby loved it. They have baby swimming seats!

3 stars otel, clean, but old rooms, good staff but bad organisation and management. Have stayed for business, but the family enjoyed the leisure center, one of the best. Overall a medium experience, probably a good start point to explore Galway. Did I mentioned the pool...? Fabulous...

The room was disgusting. As I walked through the doors I could smell a strong scent of smoke implying that someone recently smoked in the room, the curtains were closed, the terrace doors were locked allowing no one onto it and the tv kept on turning off without pressing a button. The bar staff were rather slow when the orders stacked up on drinks. The kids club is great if you are around the ages of 10 or under but not any older. The staff were nice but there are only 3 things children over 10 can do and especially if they are showing a film, it was for younger children which is great but a 14 year old wouldn't enjoy it so I recommend they open up a kids club for children over the ages of 12. The breakfast was very bad. There were really long queues and by the time it was your turn for food it was all gone. There were a lot of staff who did nothing but walk around. In most hotels they would offer you tea or coffee and toast, but you had to do it all yourself. The rashers were covered in fat, the sausages were raw and the eggs were old. It wasn't my first time staying. I stayed here last time when it was the Carlton. The receptionist back then was very ignorant and spoke ina patronizing tone. This is a horrible hotel if you don't include the location which was fantastic. If I were you I would not stay in this hotel
