This is a very nice hotel and conference center. Rooms were very comfortable and the staff at the desk, especially Louise, were helpful. It is a rather big place. The pool and gym were very nice but quite a maze to walk to it from our room. The restaurant was average, the wait staff very good. The bar was crowded anytime after 4pm. There were, however, a few things that disappointed - the bar had a sign outside of it saying no children under 16 allowed in the bar after 9 pm. Several nights we went in and it was crowded but there were many young children, mostly under 10 , in the bar. No one from the staff seemed to care. Also, there were many families at the hotel, which is fine, however, when young children are running through the hallways yelling at midnight, no one seemed to care. It was an easy bus ride into Galway City, less than10 minutes and the bus schedule was easy to figure out. A suggestion if you are staying more than a few days (we stayed 6) is to go into town and buy a weekly bus pass. that way you can ride the buses anywhere as much as you would need to. Some of the hotel has been renovated, yet some areas were still in need of updating - some carpeting, the furniture in the lounge area. The breakfast was very good - eggs, bacon, toast, cereals, fruit. Some members of our party took advantage of the spa and had massages that they said were excellent and good value.

Booked in on Sunday 7th July and we were to leave again on Wednesday, we had a great time so decided to stay an extra night. Rooms clean and big enough, only downside was no a/c in any of the rooms. It was extremely warm, we just left the windows open all day. Staff in reception, restaurant, kids club were friendly and nothing a bother. I would say that some of the bar staff could do with a bit of training in serving customers in order, and maybe converse a little more with them. Food was very good, although the restaurant was busy and the staff were run of their feet, they still managed to make everyone feel welcome. Well done on this! Breakfast had everything you would want and was fresh, warm and tasty. Kids club was very good and staff were great. Thanks guys! Bus across the road to City and Salthill, very handy. Would definitely use the hotel again when we return to Galway.

I was lucky enough to win a family breakaway to the Connacht Hotel the start of July :) Great hotel very family orientated plenty of kids there and a brill understanding of how loud & boisterous kids can be! :) We had a family room it was lovely, clean, well presented and very spacious which was lovely.Hotel pool was a big hit especially for the kids anything to do with water they are totally sold on :) Nice location too-not bang in city centre but only a few minute drive away.

I stayed in the Connaught hotel for a girls night out, everything about my experience was excellent.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room - a suite with 2 adjoining bedrooms was beautiful and spotlessly clean..We only had a snack in the hotel but the food looked amazing.
I would definetly recommend a stay in the Connaught Hotel in Galway

Myself and my girlfriend and both sets of in-laws stayed in this hotel for two nights in June. In short, this is a great hotel. The food was excellent (generous breakfast and very tasty bar food). We were amazed at the atmosphere in the hotel. This is one of the only hotels we have ever stayed in where families, business people and younger couples all appear to go hand in hand. A hotel lobby can often be quiet and somewhat boring, this place was alive with people.

We were supposed to have a few drinks on the Saturday night in the bar (which has a great cocktail bar) and then make our way into the city. The atmosphere and food were so good we ended up staying there all night. We did go into the city the night before and it's only a very short taxi trip away (taxis are waiting outside too which is handy). Our room was bright and clean and the bed was very comfortable.

If you like a hotel with a great atmosphere and friendly staff, stay here. We'll be back!!

We had a wonderful stay on Sunday 21st July.7 in our party. We had a fab time at the cocktail bar. Cillian fox the cocktail master gave us an excellent lesson in making cocktails he was easy on the eye too!!! Would highly recommend the hotel for its entertainment, friendly staff and great food. Definetly value for money.

We required a decent hotel relatively close to the City centre , with good parking and easy access. The Connaught ticks all the boxes and is a simple 20 to 25 minute stroll to the City Centre. Friendly, efficient welcome, very good room, great reception and bar area and exteremely good value. Not a 5 star but we did not want a 5 star on this occasion. We are returning next week again.
