Stayed for 4 nights half term holidays. Easy check in and we were allocated room on 2nd floor. Room and bathroom were basic, but spotlessly clean, which is important. After first night we came down to go up to Galway centre, the manager enquired how long we were staying and offered us a room on the ground floor by reception, as stag and hens use for the weekend. We thought this was a kind gesture and moved down. Our son and wife were also staying in a separate room and they moved down as well to room next door.

The second floor room was facing the road and it was a bit noisy with traffic, but the walls were well soundproofed and we could hear nothing from next door. On the ground floor noise was non existent. Both room has lovely comfy beds. Hairdryers and irons can be hired from reception for 10 euro deposit.

The location of the hotel is just on the outskirts of Galway about a 20 min walk, which we enjoyed and there is a free car park at the front of the hotel.

We conside thtis hotel to be excellent value it cost us 128 euro each for 4 nights and would certainly recommend. We got a taxi back 1 night and it cost 6 euro.

Room Tip: Ask for ground floor room at weekends, stag and hen can be noisy in corridors.

Why is it that Irish travel lodges are always better than their UK equivalents?

Well, because they are!!! They are, cleaner, better, better and better!!!!

Take a hint UK!!!!! Dirty rooms, cold rooms, unfriendly staff, the list goes on and on.
Wake up and follow the lead!!!!!!

Our room was clean and spacious. Affordable. The hotel is located within easy walking distance of Galway city. My main reason for writing this review though is to acknowledge and say how lovely it is to encounter such friendly, courteous and efficient staff.

In the past year I've stayed in the Travelodge for three stags. Its a good location within walking distance of the city center. The lodge is quite basic but clean. The rooms can accommodate three making it a very cheap stay. Theres nice food available if required.

Probably the best customer service I have ever recieved in any hotel . It started with a guyon reception called David , who was a god send. Our car broke down and he helped with endless phonecalls to garages. The help did not finish there another member of staff called marrios sorted it all out. The service I have ever recieved.
