The hotel was very clean, and definitely one of the cheapest options in Galway city. Shower was powerful and hot, nice free shampoo, comfortable bed. You don't need much more.
My only advice would be to skip the breakfast and go to a nice cafe or something. For the same price you wouldn't be ignored because there's a big group, or told half the options aren't available, again because of the big group. Made no sense to me at all, but I paid €6 for a bowl of rice crispies and two slices of cheap white toast. Not even any brown bread.
Also, it's definitely not a 10 minute walk to town, as advertised.
So, not bad room considering it's a budget hotel, but spend your breakfast money elsewhere and get something nice!More
