“Wonderful B & B”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

We spent two nights in Crookhaven B&B on a recent weekend trip to Galway. The location is perfect – minutes from the city centre in one direction, and from Salthill in the other. Our hosts, Liam and Margaret, couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable – crisp fresh linen and a smart brand new en-suite. All sorts of breakfast options are available ( in several languages) – though the Full Irish is recommended. Well done Liam and Margaret – 5 stars all round.

This B&B has several pluses and minuses. The pluses are good location, friendly owner, neat and clean. However the bathrooms are extremely small. You have to sit partially under the sink when you are on the toilet and if you drop soap (provided was scented liquid bath soap which I don't use) you have to get out of the shower to pick it up. Finally as we are leaving, we are told she forgot to tell us she no longer takes credit cards. I had to walk to the ATM to get cash.

All our bedrooms have just been refurbished and redecorated including new en suites with larger shower units, new toilets and wash hand basins, new tiling and paint work. We are very pleased with the results and confident our guests will be pleased too.

We found this bed and breakfast good but we didn't think it was anything special. For the price we paid it was just O.K. A bit of a walk to the Galway city. great hosts and welcome.
If you want a clean room and a good breakfast, this is the place for you. Do not expect anything special.

Stayed here for 1 night whilst on a cycling trip. I would have no hesitation in recommending the place which is set between Galway centre and Salthill. The owners are very helpful and my room was excellent. The full Irish breakfast really set me up for the 63 miles of cycling that lay ahead that day!
Thank you.

My husband and I travel a lot, we like to stay in inexpensive hotels and B+Bs within walking distance of whatever town/city we're in. This is 8 minutes walk from the southern end of the 'Latin Quarter' in Galway. Perfect. Hosts gave us the wonderful Irish welcome. Everything was just perfect. Fruit and yogurt was a breakfast choice which I loved. I'd already eaten way to many 'Full Irish Breakfasts'. If you're in Galway stay here. Half the price of the hotels which are just 8 minutes walk away!

We came across this B &B quite by accident, and we are glad we did. My husband and I were traveling in Ireland with my sister, brother-in-law, and niece. We were able to get two rooms and these rooms were not attached to the house, but were outside in back. The garden around the patio is beautiful. The roses smelled divine. We enjoyed the evening sitting outside and relaxing. The rooms were on the smallish side, but they were clean and comfortable. Liam was very helpful in giving us directions to a nearby church. Margaret was very helpful the next morning at breakfast when we had more questions about the area. We would definitely stay here if we're ever visiting Ireland again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room out back. They are very quiet and comfortable.
