“not worth the price”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

I just got back from my trip to Ireland and my friend and I booked this hotel for a nice last few nights. It was overpriced for what they gave you. The rooms were not fancy and not in great condition. The sheets were stained. The bathroom was old and the toilet did not flush well. The decor was not my style and outdated. Not worth the price.

The hotel decor is a bit dated, and the bed wasn't the best. However, it's clean, there is on site parking, and it is reasonably close to restaurants, bars, and shops. This is a decent option if you're staying in Galway.

Very dated “junior suite" with beds laid out like a dormitory. Staff friendly but doesn't make up for lack of basic hotel facilities like room service. It was very very poor value for money. Would definitely not recommend and can't understand why it us number one on Trip Advisor, suspect there is something dodgy going on. Either that or all the other hotels in Galway must be really bad!

Very friendly staff as we arrived , offered us tea upon arrival but we declined. Room was a good size, clean and comfortable. We had light dinner in the bar area which was tasty and of good value. Breakfast was very busy . Could not find any faults. Recommend this hotel. Its in a perfect location too.

Cannot say enough great things about this hotel. Centrally located, exceptional staff, rooms were spacious and lovely. Would use this accommodation again in a heart beat. Our tour guide booked it, saying it was the best and he was 100% correct. Simply wonderful!

The Park House Hotel, Galway is a traditional hotel which immediately exudes quality. The welcome in a sumptuous entrance is friendly, efficient and professional as are all the staff we met throughout our stay. Importantly, if you are coming by car you need to find the Fairgreen road entrance after following the one way system around the main Eyre Square in the centre of town. It is impossible to stop directly in front of the main entrance to the Hotel. Car parking is organised by the hotel staff. The carpets and decor are of the highest standard as was the superior room we had booked. Whilst the window view was uninspiring it was the very quiet room we had requested. The facilities (tea, TV etc) were excellent as were the beds and linen. The beds could have been a little wider but they were especially comfortable. The shower was not the most powerful but the water was piping hot. The breakfasts were superb (ie. the full Irish)as was the service and the evening meals were similarly good. There are early bird evening meal specials and lighter meals in the extensive and comfortable bar area. It's location is perfect for access to the entire town and the staff were very helpful in providing maps and advice. We would definitely choose this hotel for our return to Galway.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the main road are quiet. Get directions for parking before arrival, as you can not s...

After arriving a day late due to airline flight cancellations, I was charged for a room despite the fact that I was able to give a day's notice to rebook this room during their busy summer season. There was not even an offer of a discount, as there would be no room cleaning, breakfast, nor parking! I stayed the next night, and I payed also for another room where my son stayed for two.
It seems to me that they enforce their cancellation policy with undo enthusiasm.
You can do better than to stay at this hotel.
