We were here during the Art Fest this year ... Lots of people and lots of entertainment ... Street performers included acrobatics, violinists, dancers ... even a guy who plays a paper guitar and sings "Plink. Plink. Plink." He's fun. Apparently he is a regular, year after year. Did I say there were lots of people on the streets during the Fest? I had lots of fun. You might want to scope out the ATMs right away ... One is near a church, one in the middle of the block and one in the Quay Pub. I would like to return next year to this Art Fest, but I like crowds.

This was one of my favorite places in Galway! I went with some friends and we loved heading out here on the nights we were in town. There are lots of of great restaurants and bars. Our favorites were the Spanish Arch and The Quays. All kinds of different music can be found at the bars, from traditional Irish music to American rock classics adn even more alternative options. It felt very safe when leaving the bars and walking back to our hotel and there were even a few little late night places open for to go food.

The street was lovely. It was buzzing with all nationalities. We had a coffee outside and just watched the world go by.

You will find nice restaurants, nice people, pubs and clubs. Most shops are open till 2.00AM and serve food till 11.00PM. During summer there will be many activities going on as well as on any day with nice weather. You will have plenty of things to do if you happen to visit Quay street!

We visited on a Saturday and it was very very congested and it seemed to be the guys day out, the bars were full of guys on their day out. They were not rowdy or causing any bother, it made it very difficult to get any service as the bars were inadequately staffed to cope.
