“Good location and Excellent Host”

Bayberry house is an excellent B&B. The location is a short drive into downtown and a nice walk to the board walk. Marie is so kind and made us a delicious Irish coffee for the evening. Marie also makes delicious made to order breakfast. Molly the cat is very sweet and enjoys curling up on the couch with you as you read the newspaper.
Marie and Tom were kind enough to lend us their GPS which was so helpful. Marie has several wonderful dinner suggestions. We ate at the Ardilaun Hotel just a short drive away. Excellent food and good people watching. They typically have weddings on Fridays and Saturdays and the Irish go all out with beautiful hats and dresses. We also ate Moran's on the Weir in Kilcolgan after driving to the Cliffs of Moher. Amazing sea food with the most fresh local oysters.

My wife and I spent a couple of nights at the Bayberry House and really enjoyed our time there. Marie and Tom are wonderful hosts. They gave us valuable advice and recommendations for restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing. Tom gave us a ride to town one evening. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and enjoy your visit. The breakfasts were by far our favorite out of all the B&Bs we've been to. It's close enough to town that you can walk if you want to. We walked everywhere. It's even walking distance to the Trad on the Prom, which we HIGHLY recommend. Overall, this is a good choice and we would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay very much at Bayberry House. It is a lovely home, and the furnishings in our room were so pretty. Marie was so nice and so helpful--she even drove us into town one evening, which was so nice after a long day.
The breakfast is amazing--so, so delicious! Her scones are as light as a feather! She has wonderful Irish cheeses and a delicious fruit compote as well as the traditional Irish bacon and eggs and lots of side dishes. YUMMY!
She is close to the Promenade and the bay, and it's a lovely place to stay! We hope to go back again someday!

Marie, our hostess was VERY helpful in making our short stay a great one! She redirected our plans and we had a wonderful time in Galway. It was a short cab ride into the city (we opted to not worrying about parking). Our room was adorable, but the Irish breakfast was absolutely amazing with homemade scones, jam.. and she shared her terrific recipe for porridge. Stayed only one night..., and wish we had had more. :)

Out of the nine B & B's we stayed at during our two week vacation, this was one of our favorites. First of all, when we called our host saying we were having difficulty finding it, he drove right down to escort us to the B & B. He and his wife were so friendly and helpful, bringing out maps and information on the places we were visiting. They had a lovely family room where they encouraged guests to sit and talk. Breakfast was fantastic..in addition to Irish breakfast, she had hot cereal, fruit, cold cereal, granola etc.
The B & B is a good 25 minute walk from Galway center, so you have to either pay for parking or take a cab. Wifi was spotty in upstairs bedroom...we had to go downstairs in family room to use it. We considered this a minor snag for this wonderful B & B and would highly recommend it.

My husband and I stayed at Bayberry House for one night in May of 2013. We had taken a red-eye flight in the night before and were extremely early for check in. Even though Marie had been at the doctor the night before, she still welcomed us warmly. Knowing that we were exhausted, she prepared a hot water bottle for our bed and brought tea and toast to our room. She encouraged us to nap for a while and let us know that she was would wake us up and drive us into town that afternoon. Though we initially thought we would try to go through the whole day, Marie's recommendation of a nap turned out to be the best idea. When Marie drove us into town, she took us along the scenic route to show us the promonade and to explain where things were around the city. Although Marie explained to us how to get a taxi back to the B&B, we found that it was a nice, approximately 30 minute, walk from the city centre. When we returned home that evening, Marie check in with us to see if we needed anything.

The room was smaller, but very comfortable and nicely decorated. There was in-suite coffe, tea and candy. The bathroom was also pretty small, but the shower had great water pressure and lots of hot water.

Breakfast was absolutely delicious. This was the best breakfast from the four B&Bs we stayed at while in Ireland. To begin, there was cereal, yogurt and blocks of cheeses available in the dining room, along with juices and millk. Marie then brought fresh french-pressed coffee and offered porridge. The porrige was covered in cream and we topped it off with Marie's fresh, hot fruit compote. Without a doubt, it was the best porridge we have ever had. Marie then served us full Irish breakfasts which were also delicious. Her Irish breakfast included white pudding, eggs, rashers, sausage and tomato. It definitely kept us full until dinner. Also, Marie had beautiful music playing during breakfast.

Overall, this stay was excellent and we would aboslutely recommend staying here to any of our friends and family. Her porridge alone makes us want to go back to Galway.

You couldn't find a more gracious hostess than Marie. She prepares superb breakfasts with a wide selection of buffet and home cooked items. My wife had washed some of our clothes and hung them from hangers in our room. Marie took them downstairs to her area and hung them up where they would dry faster. The B&B is very convenient for quick getaways to the Aran Islands or Connemara avoiding city traffic. Can be a little tricky to find, as it appears that the directions off the roundabout go right into an apartment complex, but there is a hidden road in front of the apartments that leads to the B&B. At any rate, we couldn't find it, called them, and Tom, her husband, came right to our location and led us the B&B. Rooms are somewhat small but very adequate.
