I stayed in this hotel on Valentines night and payed for an upgrade from the standard room to the deluxe room and requested strawberries/champagne in our room upon arrival . All our requests were seen to and I felt that the 20 Euro I had spent on the upgrade was worth it as we got a big room overlooking the sea and we had a balcony ( Which we did not have access to!) The bathroom was lovely , it has a his and hers sink which I thought was a nice touch. Myself and my partner felt the 40 Euro I had spent on the champagne, strawberries and chocolates was not worth it. The 'Champagne' was a pink fizz and there were only 4 strawberries and 4 chocolates. Definitely a waste of 40 euro. I noticed in the corridors that other rooms seemed to have gotten different champagne to us, it was not pink and seemed to be the proper thing!
Pro's:
Lovely Lobby & Bar area
Great Fitness center free of charge for guests
Breakfast was good.

Con's:
The room that night was roasting even with the air-con on. We ended up trying to sleep with the window open , which was not much help.

The noise from other rooms was so loud. At about 12 at night we got a call from reception saying the room beside us complained saying we were being loud!! We found this crazy as were just talking and had not even got the tv on! Throughout the night we could hear the man in the room beside us talking very loud. Not Satisfactory or fair! We were left whispering for the night!

100 euro deposit taken from card upon check in, rate per room was 79 Euro... On friday we were still waiting for the remaining balance to go back into account!

Lighting bad in room and the balcony window was filthy so could do with a clean. Also there were cigarette buds out on the balcony and a wet sock....??

Overall we found our stay to be a bit of a let down and not worth the extra money we had spent to try and make our stay more enjoyable.

Can't fault the room at all, very comfortable big bed.
The shower was a complete let down, small shower head with a slight drizzle of water coming out.
The bar is classy yet contempoary and the dim lighting ads to the ambience.
We ordered bar food, I got bacon mushroom steak burger. Simple order...or so I taught. It came out smothered in cheese, cheese was not on the menu and I didn't order it. I hate cheese!! But we were so long waiting to be served that I just peeled it off as best I could as I was starving and did not want another long wait.
Fantastic gym and pool facilities but they are open to external membership so can get quiet busy.
Apart from that we (a young couple) could not fault the hotel and we really enjoyed our stay.

This was our third visit there this year and we were treated to an upgrade initially. Receptionists were excellent and helpful/friendly. Room had a sea view and was very comfortable. Food was delicious in Prom Restaurant ; we enjoyed meeting the young Galway chef. Service was excellent too.
Leisure centre is one of best in Ireland though this time the female staff member was not the usual cheerful/friendly person we are used to.
We will be back again soon.

Room Tip: Rooms away from heating ducts if possible

We stayed in this hotel over a weekend we found the hotel to be well kept rooms large and clean the staff were very helpful food was lovely it is in a lovely location just outside galway but not to far that you wouldn't walk in to town. One thing i would say is the bar was very busy on both nights between serving food and drinks I felt they could do with extra staff as people were having to wait a while to be served

We had our Wedding in the Salthill Hotel in December, Pauline and her team made it very easy to plan the big day. Everything on the day was done very well, everyone loved the food and wine and the room was set up very nicely. The service from the staff was first class. We are delighted we choose here for our wedding.
