Went to see the trad music session and was not disappointed. We had a great time listening to the fantastic musicians and enjoying the guinness. Get there around 930 if you want a seat.

We stopped here based on its reputation for having a great session, and we weren't disappointed. The musicians were friendly and accommodating considering the small space in which they sit, and I appreciated them making room. The place was crowded and noisy, but when an elderly gent stood up to sing a sean nos song, the room quieted down right away, and a girl who kept talking was quickly shushed into silence. I was impressed with the respect given the musicians and singers, and we would definitely go back.

Visited here on the recommendation of a local girl I was chatting to in a small café that morning. Not disappointed. Great craic and great music. Mostly trad the night I was there with the odd song and dance. Not much room upstairs which adds to the real “Irish atmosphere”.

I have been to a number of pubs around Ireland, and this was my most favorite. Great trad sessions with a lot fewer tourists. Upstairs, small, and gets crowded fast, but that is just part of the culture of Ireland! The more intimate setting makes it feel more personal and less gimmicky. Sunday nights are storytelling, singing and jam sessions. No fee for that, but there may be specific concerts that may have a cover charge.

The server at the Quey Street Kitchen recommended the Crane for music and local flavor. What a treat , more than 20 musicians raising the roof! Musician sit facing each other at a long table with people joining and leaving as they feel. The music is upstairs with a quiet pub on the ground floor. We couldn't leave, the music and vibe were that good . Don't miss the Crane for a pint and a tune!
