“Nice familydriven place near city center”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

Situated just 5 minutes from city center this hotel gives you the chance to explore Galway on foot. The rooms were nice and clean. The parkingfacilities in the basement were good and for free. The restaurant provided a wide range of good food & drinks, and the staff very friendly. All in all - good value for the money-

Room Tip: Get a room not facing the street - it can be a bit noisy.

Not much to ad to the title. The room was comfortable and had good WiFi. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was plenty of choice. I am confident to say that I could not have found a better place for my needs.

We were able to get into the car park & were accommodated straight away despite turning up early. Staff friendly & helpful. Room was comfortable. Location brilliant for walking into central Galway & bar has good atmosphere. Breakfast was good. A good base to explore Galway.

We stayed here for three nights during June 2014. Its a nice hotel right beside Eyre Square. The rooms are clean and bed was comfortable. Staff all seemed very nice.
Breakfast was only ok, rashers, eggs and sausage all looked like they were taken from a hot bar rather then cooked freshed, the omelettes are a better option I thought.
parking could be an issue. There isn't a space for each room and the car park gets quite full at night. Basically if your leaving early for a flight or whatever in the morning you could be faced with 5 cars in the way of your one when trying to get out. of course they'll be moved but you won't want to be in a hurry.
Overall good hotel, good value with parking and breakfast. clean and comfortable rooms

We stayed here after being disappointed with our original booking, and this was a last minute booking. The staff at the front desk were very accommodating in fitting us in, as they were very busy and had to move a few things around to get us in. After checking in we found a clean, comfortable room, there was a large variety of choices on the breakfast menu and on site parking was a plus as this is not always the case in Galway. When we returned to the hotel our second day we found the room was left ajar after it was cleaned, we informed the staff at the front desk about this and they seemed to take the matter seriously.

We stayed in the Western for one night. The hotel is in a great location within easy walking distance of the Latin Quarter and the centre of town. We were driving and luckily the hotel has an underground carpark behind the hotel so we left the car there for the whole time as its easy to get around on foot. The room was a standard double and had everything that you would expect. It wasnt huge but as we were only staying there for one night it was fine. It was clean and the shower was very good. Breakfast was included and they had a nice selection of pastries and cereals. You have to order your tea and coffee when you arrive, before you sit down which is a bit of an odd system as our tea and coffee got delivered to a different table, but it was quickly rectified. They also offer a full cooked breakfast to your liking and were flexible with choices.

We arrived the hotel expecting it to be a typical hotel. It was not. It was interesting, with a small reception area but plenty of room in the breakfast area and pub. Breakfast was good with a nice variety of options. We can't say much about the room itself because we only slept there...the rest of the time we were enjoying Galway. But one of the high points of Galway happened in the pub at the hotel. We were there on a night when they had a "session" with more and more "trad" musicians arriving until there were close to 20, all playing good Irish music. And most of them were under 40, a great sign that traditional Irish music has a long life ahead of it. We sat with a number of new friends who were in town on a tour from Northern Ireland and had a great time.
