Fantanstic!!!
Myself and my boyfriend came here for a short weekend break away, and I have to say we couldn't have choosen a nicer spot. The room was a large double room and had a breath taking view of the sea. The breakfeast was delicious and was so large we found ourselves not eating again until dinner! The propritress was extremely friendly and helpful, and one of her children even voluntered to drop us into town to save us waiting for a taxi. All and all I'd have to rate the experiance 10/10 and I find mysel already thinking about planning another trip to galway before the summer is through.

Our recent car tour of the Irish coast meant us staying at a variety of B & Bs, without prior booking. How highly we rated them, in particular Cashelmara Lodge.
The owners gave us a warm welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast offered a wide selection of excellent food. It was well situated in a quiet spot, with regular bus service easily accessed to take us into Galway City centre.

Room Tip: We chose a rear room because we thought it would be quieter, in fact the whole area was quiet, and t...

My husband and I just returned from a nine day vacation to Ireland. We decided to stay in B & B's the entire trip. Of the four Bed and Breakfast establishments we stayed, the Cashelmara Lodge was by far the worst. Our room was very small. We had just enough room to walk around the bed. With the addition of our luggage, that left very little room to walk around. The proprietors did not provide many extras in the room. No kleenex, no shampoo and the like. The shower stall was very small. The curtains in the room were of the sheer variety. There were no shades or blinds. The sun came up between 4:30 AM and 5:00 AM making it hard to stay asleep. The traditional Irish breakfast lacked white and black sausage and mushrooms. All of which we received at the other B&B's we stayed. But I saved the worst for last. We only booked establishments that accepted credit cards for payment. This establishment published online at Expedia.com and Venere.com that they accepted credit cards. When we tried to pay with a credit card upon our departure, we were told by the owner that they didn't take credit cards during the off season because it cost too much. She then sent my husband on a tour of the city to find an ATM. The first ATM was out of order and the second ATM was miles away. The proprietor apologized profusely but the harm had been done. False advertisement is against the law in the USA.

Nice accomodation in Salthill, 3km west of Galway City. Stayed here for two nights and booked the room per mobile-phone on the day of our arrival in Galway. The room with a view of the near Bay was clean, breakfast was good and the owners were friendly and helpful.

The ferry terminal (in Rossaveel) for a trip to the Aran Islands is just ~ 40 min. away and you avoid possible traffic jams in Galway City. The city itself is easy to reach with the car (ca. 5 min). In Barna, also a few minutes west from Salthill, there are some very good restaurants (seafood!).

All in all we enjoyed our stay in the Cashelmara Lodge.

B&B is right on the Bay. Great view from the second floor patio which is for everyone to share. Our room was large enough for three of us to move around and we had enough room for our luggage. Each night we were asked when we wanted breakfast in the morning. Breakfast was nice, very morning we were asked if we needed assistance in planning our day. Owner's suggested an excellent route to Quiet Man Bridge, and Cong, Ireland.

Room Tip: It was really windy one night, our room was in the back of the house and I didn't hear a thing.
