“Great Boutique Hotel”

We had a small group stay at this hotel and we absolutely loved it. Great charm and location. We were able to take the train out from Dublin to Galway and then a short cab ride to the hotel. Once at the hotel you can get around on foot. The hotel was very comfortable and had modern ammenities; however the bed was a bit firm. Your breakfast is included in the room rate and the staff was very friendly and helpful. When we return to Galway for another visit, we would certainly stay here again. This is truly a gem!

A friend booked my room here as we were getting together for a reunion and it would not have been my choice, in fact i had never heard of the hotel.

But WOW! What a surprise! I'm almost reluctant to write a review as i would like to keep this hotel as our little secret!

From the moment we walked in we felt so welcome and "at home". Instead of the officious looking reception, the staff are seated at table/desks for the check-in. The lounge is bright, stylish and contemporary and everything felt just right. The location is fantastic for the excitement and bustle of Eyre Square, shopping and nightlife, although it is still quiet and relaxing in the hotel itself. We only had the standard rooms, but they were exceptionally clean, comfortable and well appointed - and very good value for money.

The cocktails in the bar were too delicious and reasonably priced and the service first class. They even served us a bowl of complimentary strawberries with our drinks.

The only negatives are that there is no parking (although there is a handy multi storey nearby) and lugging bags from the car to the hotel was a bit of a chore. The other issue was the breakfast which took a LONG time to serve - we waited over 45 minutes! In their defense the staff were apologetic and there were signs up in the lift warning that people coming for a later breakfast might experience a wait. It would perhaps be an idea if the hotel consider offering more of a buffet style breakfast as their kitchen is clearly not geared up to cook every breakfast to order. When it came, it was delicious and as we were in no hurry it was not really an issue to wait.

I will definitely return and next time i would like to try out one of the deluxe rooms.

We stayed at The House hotel two weeks ago for three nights. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The decor is great, our room was cozy and hotel is in a great location.

Our room was pretty modern; flat panel tv, nice bathroom, cozy bed. My fiancee got food poisoning one night and we had to stay in our room the whole day. While it was sad that we lost one day of exploring, because our room was so cozy I didn't mind at all. Love that the vanity table in our room had a electrical outlet for US electronics. We only brought one converter and it helped that we didn't have to fight over which of our electronics needed the converter. Did I mention location - we loved going to the Quays Pub. The hotel bar had a good crowd as well.

The only downside was the reception seemed icy; they seemed a little warmer when we were checking out. We came in from Killarney and stayed at a smaller hotel and the staff there was so nice. We also got engaged on our way to Killarney; they just seemed like they didn't care. Understand that this is a 'trendy' hotel but c'mon everyone in Ireland was so friendly towards us except the reception staff at this hotel.

We'd probably stay there if we return to Galway; hopefully they'll be a little friendlier. We parked at the 'car park' down the street and found it convenient. It wasn't a bad deal at all.

This hotel is beautiful, beautifully decorated, excellent staff, great food, great location. I haven't a bad word to say about it, it doesnt have parking but there is a multi storey 2 minutes walk from hotel and they have an offer of €8 for 24 hours, the hotel as no swimming pool but I wouldnt hold that against them. Will definitely go back. And I was lucky enough to get a great deal on supervalu, it is not the cheapest hotel in the world, but definitely worth the money..

I stayed here with 10 or so family and friends. We changed our reservations and the people coming a dozen times, we asked for unusual breakfast at unusual times, and in general were as awkward as awkward can be. The staff were outstanding - nothing was a problem, every staff member was natural and helpful and I can genuinely say that the service was better than I have ever seen. The hotel is a 3 minute walk from shop street and Galways best pubs and restaurants. The rooms are all nicely designed in quite a funky manner. They are also very well insulated so street noise is not a problem.
The restaurant is excellent value and the food is superb for the price. As a regular visitor to Galway, I cannot see why I would stay anywhere else again.

From the moment you land in the hotel, you get a comforting feeling, that you are not just a number! The atmosphere is warm, welcoming; receptionists & restaurant staff could not do enough for you. The whole place has this 'cosy home' impression.

Room and bathroom were comfortable, clean & modern. Every single thing is thought to the detail - could not fault it.

Breakfast has quite a selection. Whether you are oriented to continental or irish full, mini breakfast, salmon on croissant, pancakes etc - it is all there! Again staff in the restaurant - very helpful and attentive.

Over short period of stay we had both our dinners in the hotel's restaurant, because again, you could not fault food & service, - very tasty and presented with detail.

The hotel (reception area, restaurant, and most importantly - ROOMS) has wireless internet, which connects without any passwords! Very convenient!

It is located in the very centre of the city, - parking is facilitated only couple minutes walk from the hotel for €8 per 24 hours.

Once again, we are happy to discover The House Hotel to which we are looking forward to come back!

This hotel is great, I don't understand how it can have any negative reviews. We paid 119eu for a deluxe double, and weren't disappointed. The room was spacious and SO clean, nothing looked faded or tatty, the staff, especially the receptionist, were helpful and friendly, it is in a fantastic location, and the lobby/reception area is the most inviting I have seen- we, and others, were happy to sit there, chatting and sipping drinks. Yes, the parking situation is a little bit inconvenient, but it is to be expected in a city centre hotel. At least there is a discount for hotel guests, so 24hrs parking is only 8eu. The girl who dropped coffee to our rooms at 7.20am(asked for between 7 -7.30) struck the correct balance between cheerful and unobtrusive, and was a great start to the day.
I cannot fault this hotel in any way, I plan on staying here whenever I travel to Galway.
