Mike & Marie and their sons were very accommodating and helped me with my luggage up to my room. They are very nice people and gave great recommendations on places to eat or sights to see around the area. Close to Salthill and the City Centre although you have to drive down there, but it's not too far. I wish I could have stayed longer. Next time!
Breakfast was great, anything you asked for you could get pretty much. They had a wide spread of food to choose from. Their house is very nice, the rooms were spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Marie has a nice garden in the backyard. If it's warm outside, you could just sit out there and relax and enjoy the garden.
On my last night I had a bit of a sore neck and shoulder from driving a lot and they gave me first some ice then later a nice heating pad to take to bed. You can really tell that they enjoy having a B&B and to take care of people. The brown bread they make for breakfast is excellent too. Maybe you can send me the recipe... :)
Thanks so much.

Michael and Marie are wonderful hosts, friendly and welcoming. My bed was super-comfortable, everything is immaculately clean, and you can't go past the scrambled eggs with locally smoked salmon for breakfast (especially with Marie's delicious home-baked bread). Wish I could have spent more time here. Thank you so much!

My daughter and I stayed here on a recent trip to Ireland and it was very enjoyable. We had very comfortable beds and lovely clean roon. Breakfast in the morning was more than we could have wanted and it was delicious.A wonderful place and very clean and welcoming. We would certainly stay there again and would recommend Abbeylee to our friends as a place to stay.

Room Tip: We did not see a fitness centre and had no need for children's activities.

This was our first trip to Ireland and our first stop. Mike and Marie were such delightful host that made for an enjoyable experience. Rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. The sitting room was tastefully decorated as well as providing the guest with free wifi access. Breakfast was always tasty with generous portions served. The endless refills of delicious French press coffee was just an added bonus. Mike and Marie was always readily available for suggestions, directions and recommendations.

We were staying during cold Easter 2013 for 2 nights in this B&B. The room was sufficiently large for us 3. Bath was OK. Breakfast was as usually very rich and tasty, even smoked Salmon and other delicious things exceeding the standard. The owner was kind and helpful. We would come again. The location is a bit far from the centre of the town but as Galway is not that big, you could even walk or take a short ride by bus. The main road was far enough, so that we had a silent night.

I'm going to have to say the downside to this 4-star B&B is its location. I should have researched Galway accomodations better before booking...we wanted to stay closer to the City Centre, but when we got there, we realized, even though many reviewers on this site said that you COULD walk to the city centre is you are active and adventurous (which we ARE), you really did have to take a cab, car or bus into town. It's in a completely residential area, however it is right next to a busy road which started to get noisy early in the morning on a weekday. (Side note...apparently Galway wush hour traffic is horendous!)

The only other complaint we had was the water in the shower would get cold after the first person went (there were two of us).

Aside from those two things, we enjoyed our stay...the rooms were spacious. Our friends were in the room across the hall from us and they had a large bathroom, and ours was smaller, so it all depends on what you get. Everything was clean and we felt right at home. Marie even supplied us with ice for our Bailey's nightcaps. Breakfasts were delicious and filling. Mike and Marie assisted us with booking our tour to the Cliffs of Moher and arranging for the tour to pick us up at the house.

I would recommend this B&B to anyone who doesn't want to be too close to the city centre, but close enough to get there by car in 10 minutes.

Room Tip: Maybe the rooms in the back are more quiet since they don't face the busy road.

We stayed here for one night in the middle of our Ireland vacation and were very sad to leave! Mike and Marie were amazing hosts and gave us loads of help with our planning. Both are very well versed on their town and had many brochures and pamphlets for the local sights.

There is a bus stop just down the street from their home if you are unwilling to brave the city traffic in your own vehicle or they can help you arrange a taxi as well. We had dinner at McDonogh's (Seafood) and it was great!

The room was very nicely apportioned and quite comfortable. The breakfast was great as well!
