“A natural hostess in a wonderfull B&B”
Reviewed 25 March 2014

Mary provides a warm but not intrusive welcome. We felt totally at ease in Marless House - sometimes i can feel a little uncomfortable in a B&B as they are smaller and generally also the hosts home but Marless felt like our home.

The entire house was spotless and well furnished. We had a lovely spacious room with a sea view! The bed was huge (and so comfortable), the bathroom is an en suite so obviously its on the small side but had everything we needed and was immaculate. Hot water was always available and the towels were lovely and fluffy! Tea/biscuits were available in the room (Barrys tea - The best!).

Breakfast was amazing - Mary is a very talented chef and you can pick and choose from the hotmenu which is very generous. You can also help yourself from the table in the dining room with cereals/fruits.We enjoyed our breakfast immensely and took our time in the lovely breakfast room.

It is a lovely B&B with a fantastic hostess - in a stunning location. I cannot fault it.

This Bed and Breakfast is absolutely fabulous. Mary is a real Irish Gem, and I felt like I was leaving a family member after staying for 4 days. Apart from a totally wonderful person, the rooms were clean and the breakfast was amazing! We took some day excursions, Mary organized them for us and we got picked up at the B and B. I am planning my 2015 Irish trip already and Mary and her B and B will be our destination!

My girlfriend and I had a lovely stay here, despite coming in the offseason. The rooms were clean and warm, and Mary was welcoming and very accommodating. Salthill is a bit of a walk to the center of Galway, but it's a nice stretch of the legs after a day in the car. I'd recommend the Marless House to anyone staying in Galway.

Nobody has anything bad to say about this place, and almost EVERYONE rates it as Excellent. That's because it is. Mary is just a true delight. We enjoyed visiting with her over tea, and we were absolutely spoiled by her amazing menu for breakfast, all cooked to order! The location is great as it's not too far from Galway center, and just literally a minute's walk to the beach. The rooms were great as well. I'm placing this in my top 5 B&Bs I've visited, and that's saying A LOT!

Room Tip: I liked the downstairs room simply because it was closer to the parlor.

Stayed two nights this past October with my two daughters in one of the most beautiful room in the house. Everything about the house is great. The house is less than a block from the coast. There is a wide promenade walkway all along the water from Salthill to Galway, it's about a 40 minute walk. Mary drew us a map of how to get around and where to eat. Tom helped me with my rental car - the car was a manual and could not figure out how to put it in reverse. Thank you Tom!!! Breakfast was amazing. Mary's breakfasts are fantastic. Already planning another trip back to Ireland and will be staying at Marless House. A truly wonderful place to stay at.

We based ourselves for three nights very close to Galway at the Marless House B&B. It is only several hundred yards from Galway Bay and the promenade. Owners Mary and Tom Geraghty are the perfect hosts; it is like staying with your favorite relatives. Her care, attention to detail and good humor is contagious. She is an encyclopedia of information and her help with our various day trips was invaluable. Both rooms we had in the house were quiet and immaculately clean; bathrooms modern, well-appointed and spotless. Their Irish breakfast was amazing, served in a lovely breakfast room. It’s a stone’s throw from the bay, but about a 10-minute drive from downtown Galway (which we happily explored one night). The B&B is actually in the seaport town named Salthill and the actual village, which we did not take advantage of, is about 5 minutes down the promenade. There was too much to do in and around Galway: Aran Islands, Connemara Drive, Galway City itself and Marless House B&B was the perfect respite for these weary travelers.
