Truely this hotel lives up to it's acclaim! Great location for nightlife and restaurants. The staff was extremely accomodating and friendly. They literally anticipated our needs. Our room was very spacious and well appointed. Beds were comfortable and the bath was huge! We will stay here whenever in Galway.

I cannot conceive of staying at another hotel in Gawlay. The Meyerick is in the center of Galway, right on Eyre Square (old grass square rich in history), next to the train station, one block from the bus terminals, less than a block from the Budget car rental office, and literally right next to all the shopping and attractions. We took the train from Dublin to Galway, got off the train and walked around the block to check in to the hotel. We took a tour bus to the Cliff of Moher and the front desk arranged the tour and the bus picked us up in front of the hotel. When we went to the Aran Islands, the tour office was around the corner from the hotel. Valet parking was available for our rental car and getting to and from the hotel was easy. Many of the other hotels on the trip advisor list are some distance from the city center and would be a chronic hassle to get from to the city center.
The staff was friendly, compentent and eager to please. We felt like we were at home and did not hesitate to ask their advice or for their asstance. Particularly Emma behind the front desk and Jim at the front door.
The inclusive full irish breakfast was the best we experienced in our two week trip to Ireland, served in a large and elegant dining room. Many options were available from the cold items at the buffet to the warm eggs, etc. which you could choose to have prepared.
We opted for a junior suite on the fifth floor and it was a great room -- large and spacious with a comfortable bed, sitting area and plenty of room. Noise was not an issue.

After returning from a recent trip to the hotel Meyrick I can not wait to get back again!

Everything from the check in, to staff, food, drink it was all top class....

Our room looked out on the fab Eyre Square, plenty of space, and very comfortable Beds.

We dined in The Oyster Grill Restaurant on the first night and can only praise the chefs the food was 5 star.

I wish to mention in particular the duty manager which we got talking to on both nights in the bar, his name is Sean he is a credit to your management team, such a genuine naturally gifted fella, your hotel is blessed with his pressence.

Looking forward to my Return!

I stayed in the Hotel Meyrick Eyre square Galway for four nights in August last. I enjoyed my stay. It is a beautiful hotel, ideally situated in the heart of Galway city, It is a little expensive but it's worth it, the extra luxury is well worth the extra money and the city centre locaction is well worth the extra money. The hotel is very luxurious, it has a beautiful lobby on entrance and beautiful decor throughout. It is an old world hotel yet it is quite modern in style, the two styles are combined which is quite nice i found. The hotel maybe little expensive but the extra luxury is worth it i found, all the staff were lovely, couldn't do enough for you, all very professional and freindly and welcoming. All the staff were lovely, the reception staff, the waiting staff and the accomadation staff were extra nice, they couldn't do enough for me, It is a little expensive but you could eat downstairs in Fagan's sports bar, they have the nicest juiciest burgers ever and it is all very reasonably priced.

My wife and I chose this hotel for our recent weekend break in Galway, and were delighted we did so. We were travelling down from Dublin on the Train and wanted comfort and convenience. We stepped out of the station, turned left took 10 steps and turned into the hotel reception. Check in was efficient and our room looked out on Eyre Square, right in the heart of the city. The room and bathroom were of 4 star quality and given we were in the heart of the city actually were very quiet. Although the dinner menu looked tempting we decided to stroll down Quay Street and shop street, and enjoyed the atmosphere of all the pubs and restaurants there. had a great fish meal in MCDonoughs(?) . and it was only a five minute stroll back to our base. The next night we ate in the hotel and the staff were very helpful in choosing from the menu and wine list. The meal was beautifully cooked and presented and it was lovely to relax in the lounge afterwards with an Irish coffee. Breakfast both mornings was busy but very enjoyable, and left us with little room for lunch. And not a cent needed to be spent on taxis from when we arrived to when we left.

All in all a great hotel, in a great location in a wonderful city . We will be back soon again.

Travelled to Galway with a party of 6 for graduation. Excellent location with valet parking. Reception staff delightful, rooms very spacious and clean with v comfortable beds. Dined in, €33.00 menu really good value, food top quality. Lovely breakfast too, served with great good humour and attentiveness. We're coming back for the Christmas Party Nights!! Forgot to mention the spa and the hot tub with the view of Galway!!!

I booked the Meyrick Hotel for a meeting and brought clients with me to Galway as a way of showing them more of Ireland. I was a little nervous as it was a very important event for me and the girl in reservations was really efficient and helpful in answering all my questions as well as making sure we were looked after. My clients were delighted at being brought to such a beautiful historic hotel and loved being so close to everything. Yes, I would agree that there are areas that are 'well loved' but to me, that added to the charm and you can still see lots of original features which is fantastic.

We had dinner in the Oyster restaurant which was the highlight as they are all foodie experts and they are still talking about the chowder!! The guys on the door charmed all of them and by the time we got to the meeting, they were happy to go with anything I suggested. Thank you Hotel Meyrick for making my event a very successful one and I look forward to visiting again soon.
