“Perfect Galway City Getaway”
Reviewed 24 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

This apartment/building is ideally situated for walking around Galway City. The owner Irene could not have been more accommodating; she made my kids and me feel taken care of from the moment we arrived (the welcome snacks were a huge hit:). The building was very secure, and the black-out curtains were helpful given how much sunlight Galway gets in June. It was also surprisingly quiet given how many bars and restaurants are nearby. Galway City is a wonderful small city; very easy to get around, and lots of fantastic restaurants. Incredible river/ocean views (right from the room), and we had an easy walk to the Salthill area, which has a long promenade with even more stunning ocean views. We enjoyed every minute of our week at Granary Suites, and I hope we get to return soon!!

“Rooms with a view!”
Reviewed 20 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Excellent location for this sweet little suite! We enjoyed the beautiful views overlooking the river and the Spanish Arch. Everything was a short walk away, and yet the location was quiet and serene. Irene was super friendly and met us upon arrival with a surprise welcome gift from Sheridan's Cheesemongers. She was just a phone call away and available to assist us as needed. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay at the Erin Suite and hope to make a return visit in the future.

“Best place to stay in Galway.”
Reviewed 21 September 2016 for a stay in June 2016

This place is amazing. The view of the bay is spectacular. You are only a few minutes walk away from the Latin quarter and Spanish arches. Irene was a lovely host. The apartment is clean, spacious, and well furnished. We loved our stay there.

“In the middle of the city but quiet”
Reviewed 11 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

This appartment is in the middle of Galway with a beautiful view on the river. You leave the house and fall on the party mile. But it is is in an backyard, very calm and quiet. We had the opportunuty to park right on the front door. This is important, becaus parking is a nuissance in galway.

“An Apartment with an Amazing View”
Reviewed 23 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Excellent location for a stay in Galway, right on the river and the Spanish Arches clearly in view. An easy walk to the main attractions and a very comfortable two bedroom apartment.
With three adults' the upstairs living area and downstairs sleeping helped to ensure everyone had their own space.
The kitchen was great to cook in plenty of room to spread out and store our travel gear. The host was very helpful with lots of local advice to ensure an enjoyable stay in Galway.

“Highly Recommend”

My wife and I stayed at the Granary Suite Complex for a week during May. For the first few days we were accompanied by our daughter, son-in law and their eighteen month old son and also our son and partner.
This apartment was superb. It more than catered for our needs and was a 5 minute walk to the centre of Galway City.
The accommodation was well maintained, clean, comfortable, spacious and equipped with everything you could possibly require on a self catering holiday. We quickly felt at home and were delighted to find, we did not have to figure anything out, as all electrical appliances were left with clear operating instructions as well as recommended restaurants and pubs.
The duplex apartment was situated on the second floor of the building and as someone who suffers from both a heart condition and have had a spinal fusion operation recently - I personally found this layout no great inconvenience.
The central location and views of the River Corrib, Spanish Arch and Galway Harbour are a real plus as is the off street parking facility made available on a limited basis. The owners stated in advance that additional parking is available at Galway Cathedral at a reasonable cost (4 Euros per day.) The walk from the Cathedral to the apartment is only about 4 to 5 minutes and partly along a beautiful canal path where I was fortunate to observe breeding ducks, swans and their off spring.
Mrs Coen and her son Gerald are delightful owners - just so happy to help but never intrusive.
Would highly recommend and hope to return in the near future.

“Information not Complete or Accurate”

Always hard to write this kind of review but this is the only way potential renters can make a decision on whether to stay somewhere. I have been the beneficiary of many posters here and VRBO, Airnb etc from both positive and negative reviews.

After renting 20 apartments all over the world in the last few years , I thought I knew what to look for. In Europe since many buildings are quite old it is standard practice to list the Floor of the apartment and make note of no lift (elevator) or elevator present.

Here neither was done and I failed to ask the necessary questions. But had they said anywhere in the listing stated that this was a 2 level apartment , I would have immediately asked more questions and discovered that actually 3 flights of stairs need to be climbed to the Living Room.

This is important information for older renters or those using a cane like me because of a knee injury. I would never have rented this apartment if there been anything in the description to let me know ask more questions.

I was captured by the beautiful views and the term Luxury Renovation.

I suppose this could have been a Luxury Renovation 20 years ago but that is not an apt description now. Most of the kitchen appliances are ancient as are the bathrooms. In fact the Master Bathroom is ridiculously tiny. We also had problems with electrical and cracked toilet seat. These problems were handled promptly but again the term Luxury has no relevance in the description. There are cracks and holes in the wall . Nothing serious but again Luxury is a mis-leading description.

To be fair there is a new Refrigerator and a Washer not a Washer Dryer as listed.

The location is wonderful and Irene and Gerald are very welcoming and easy to deal with.

WiFi was strong and Fast.

It would be a comfortable apartment for most although in no way a Modern or Luxury apartment.

The description needs to be changed so that those who do not want to climb 3 flights of stairs multiple times a day are aware of what they will be renting.

We were lucky to secure parking in the small courtyard but this is not guaranteed and the mention of parking at the Cathedral is not really relevant, because we never saw an open space there during the day.

City parking Lots are very expensive with no in and out privileges. Something else that needs to be considered.

This apartment will be adequate for most with some limitations mentioned but is not for anyone who has any mobility problems or is expecting a Modern and Luxurious apartment

Thank you for your review, we pride ourselves on listening to our guests and improving where necessary, ensuring all future visitors have only the best of experiences.

We have already amended our description to indicate that our duplex apartments are all located on the second floor. Though it is stated that there is no elevator or wheelchair access, we presumed this to be sufficient. This was an oversight on our behalf and we do apologise. We are fortunate, that over the years, we welcome a substantial number of repeat guests, many of whom are elderly and have no difficulty with the stairs.

We apologise that the three lightbulb kitchen unit had only two bulbs working, and that it took two hours to change the toilet seat that broke during your stay. Also, the holes your refer to, were not on the wall but on the skirting board, by the sitting room door, and occurred when a door stopper was removed during a redecoration immediately prior to your arrival. These three screw holes have now been filled and repainted. We apologise for any inconvenience these may have caused.

I must point out that there is a washer dryer, perhaps you were expecting two separate units, but it is a combined washer dryer. In addition, all our photographs are fully representative of the actual apartment.
