We loved it at Amber Hill. The staf was so nice and helpfull! The room was clean and nice.It took us 10 minutes to walk to the sea. Close to bus stop for Galway City.Maybe it took 5-7 minutes with the bus. Breakfast was good. Nice service!

Amber Hill bed & breakfast is a lovely place. We had a very spacious room. Everything was clean and tidy. The breakfast was excellent! The staff were very polite & helpful. A great little getaway spot. You can walk into Galway but take a can home, it's all uphill on the way back! I'll definitely stay here when I'm in Galway again.

it was very good, the room had a very nice view and the shower was perfect
we choose the continental breakfast and it had a good variety of products
the only thing is that it's a good 30 min up the hill coming from Galway but very enjoyable(prety houses and lots of trees)

Room Tip: the ones with windows on 3 sides

Overpriced, tired and worn looking facilities ,cramped breakfast room, nice breaky , lovely view. Nice Indian staff member, host friendly but never around when you need him, kitchen staff lady has no people skills or possibly no English....not exactly the genuine Irish B and B experience ..

Room Tip: If you book online, and you arrive and get a different room, be persistent to get what you pay for...

I stayed here twice, both for one night. The first room I had was up on the top floor. The shower was awkward, otherwise the room was nice. The second time I had a room on the first floor up. This had a very nice bathroom with tub and a comfortable bed.
Breakfasts are copious and good.
Don't let the two different names (Amber Heights and Amber Hill) confuse you, the two buildings are connected inside. The reception is at the enterance marked Amber Heights.
If you don't have a car, this is pretty far out of the center of Galway. There is a good pub & restaurant within walking distance, however.

Room Tip: Ground- and first floor rooms are more comfortable than the second floor rooms. Rooms in front get t...

stayed here for the Galway arts festival, staff were really friendly and helpfull, always smiling. The room was nicely decorated and well looked after. breakfast was was also very enjoyable, it was a fry - fried like it should be without loads of grease oh as i'm from the north i'd like to see some potato bread on it.

Room Tip: if its going to be really hot ask for a room at the back as sun sets on front of house
