Description: Serving the Galway community for over twenty years, White Gables specialises in traditional cooking with a modern flair. Visitors to this atmospheric restaurant are guaranteed the greatest experience in every way: service, comfort, hospitality and plenty of good classically cooked sumptuous food. Mains include grilled rib-eye steak with pepper sauce, or, one of the most popular dishes on the menu, traditional lip-smacking crispy roast half duckling with orange sauce. Fish is also a speciality here with timeless classics featuring such as, Sole on the Bone, Scallops Mornay and many other favourites, depending on market availability. Wines are hand-picked by Ann herself with choices to suit every pocket, and a great selection of half bottles too. Prices are matched to suit all budgets. A set menu is available every evening, with plenty of choice and two courses cost just €30 per person, with four courses at €38 per person. A la Carte dining is also an option. Located in Moycullen, 8km from Galway, White Gables Restaurant , Enjoy…from White Gables food shop and Enjoy…More cafe were established by Anne and Kevin Dunne, in a cottage dating back to the 1920s. White Gables is recommended by Good Food Ireland, Bridgestone Guides, Georgina Campbell’s Ireland and Lucinda O’Sullivan’s Little Black Book.

“Lovely place with good food and very good service”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

We ate a lovely evening meal here. We decided to go a la carte as we fancied things on that menu and do not normally eat three courses. I had the Black and White pudding starter which I very much enjoyed followed by Lemon Sole. The fish was fine and the portion of fish and accompanying veg and potato plentiful. However, in hindsight I should have chosen differently as Lemon Sole is not really a favourite of mine. It was still good though. My wife had the Bluebell Fall’s Goat’s Cheese which was fabulous followed by the biggest single portion of Beef Wellington I have ever seen with a great piece of beef inside. AND there was plenty veg and potato too!!
The setting and decor is lovely and the service was very attentive. Well worth a visit.

“Excellent as good as everyone told us!!”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

We heard about the White Gables a few years ago and always promised ourselves we would go, well the opportunity arose at the beginning of the month at the end of a long trip around Connemara. We called up on the off chance thinking that on a saturday it would be too busy but we were in luck. Four of us sat down to the three course dinner menu for €38.50. I had a very tasty pork terrine to start and a very large rib eye steak with a pepper sauce as a main with creme caramel to finish. My partner had an avocado and orange salad to start, stuffed roast duckling as a main and a chocolate dessert to finish. The two kids had soup and steaks. The service is excellent, professional but friendly and unobtrusive. My daughter's steak was a bit too rare for her taste but it was given the extra cooking needed without any fuss just as we would expect in a restaurant such as this. There is a good wine list at good prices. All in all I would recommend White Gables and I will return sooner rather than later, it certainly made the trip from Scotland worthwhile.

“Excellent Fare and Attention”
Reviewed 18 April 2014

Our friends took us to White Gables which has a wall full of accolades so we expected the best and we got it !
Local and fresh seafood beautifully prepared and served with pride......( too much ? then they will wrap it up for you to enjoy at home later ).
This is a husband and wife run gourmet establishment who chef and handle front of house with their teams....smooth , slick operation.
We will come back when next in Galway.

“My favourite special restaurant!”
Reviewed 9 April 2014

If I'm wanting to go for a special meal then it's The White Gables every time. The food is superb, excellent service. Ann greets people warmly and pre-dinner drinks are served in the cozy bar in front of the fire. Whatever I've eaten has always been absolutely delicious from the bread and scones before the starter (So delicious but don't eat too much before the meal!); excellent starters; freshly caught fish and great steaks and duck. Fabulous wines too. It always feels intimate even when it's full. I took a friend there recently for a celebration and we were there for 4 hours! - no pressure to hurry us out. The prices have actually come down in the last couple of years but I tend to save The White Gables for special occasions because it makes them so much more memorable.
