Was recommended this restaurant and it was well worth the recommendation.

It is advisable to book this restaurant.
It is situated by the water and we managed to get a nice window seat for two!
Crab and calamari to start - delicious
Steak and lamb for mains - delicious
Rhubarb dessert - delicious
The wine - an organic Red - Sangiovese Blend, Marche CiuCiu Oris Falerio.
I loved the child of Prague themed kitchen ware....
Staff were excellant.

“Local sourced, fresh products - Great dining experience”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

Everything is fresh and lovingly prepared. Nice selection of seafood, fowl, red meat and vegetarian offerings. Situated right on the river near the Spanish Gate. This is a small restaurant , less than 60 seats, so call ahead.

“It's like you're at your best friend's cottage...”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

We stumbled upon this place near the river by accident and were lucky enough to get a table as its a pretty small place. Whitewashed walls, wooden farm tables, candles. It's cozy and feels like the home of a close friend. The menu is very fresh. There were some rather quirky things on the menu, but our party sampled those as well and found them delicious. There are gluten free options here too! I would definitely recommend this to anyone. I am still thinking of the brown bread from here and have plans to replicate the recipe!

“Hidden gem”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

Got a recommendation from a family member to eat here. If left to our own devices we'd probably have stopped in one of the restaurants on quay st...so glad we didn't. Meal was absolutely delicious! Excellent fish starters followed by the perfect steak and Lebanese fish stew. Shared a rhubarb fool which was divine. Excellent wine which was reasonable and some dessert wine and limoncello to finish. Lovely atmosphere in restaurant which is effortless, not like somewhere trying to be cool. Highly recommend it to anyone!

“Something specail”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

We couldn't get into the restaurant we had planned and this place was recommended. We got a cancelled booking so were very lucky on a busy night. The staff were welcoming and efficient and the decor is charming. What really impressed us though was the food. All of our starters were delicious and beautifully presented. The food was fresh and inventive. The outstanding dish of the night was the fish of the day which my (much travelled) husband said was possibly the best fish dish he had ever eaten. Despite being quite full after two courses we could not resist trying two desserts, chocolate fondant and rhubarb fool. Both were great. Oh and the wines were exquisite which just capped off an excellent meal. Not the cheapest in Galway but worth the little bit extra.
