The Bricin is a beautiful restaurant, fabulous food, efficient friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere, romantic... a real treat to eat here, a bit pricey but for a special occasion you can't beat it

“Could do with more variety”
Reviewed 22 July 2012

I have eaten in Bricin Restaurant many many times over the years the most recent being last Saturday night. While the food is very nice the menu has remained the same no change over the years (boxy or booty has been there a long time)
Staff are very pleasant and I would reccomend the steak or the lamb Noise level can be very high in the main area but seating in the area over looking the street does not have this problem
I will return but would like to see more varied menu

“Hidden jewel for wine lovers”
Reviewed 20 July 2012

I just happened upon this place, and boy was I lucky! There is a pleasant gift shop on the ground level, with a very unassuming sign pointing to the upstairs restauant. The entire second floor of seating oozed with rustic charm. And if you want a quiet intimate dinner, this is the place to go. I am a beer drinker, and they lacked much of a choice, but the limited selection was good. They have a huge wine selection, which I wasn't expecting for a smallish Irish tourist town. They also had early bird specials. I had a fried camembert appetizer, entree and dessert for 19 euros, with the freshest irish brown bread and butter I had on my 10 day trip! Normally just the entree and bread were 19 euros. My boxty(in my case, curried stew wrapped in potato pancake) was amazing! Oh, and a little salad on the same boxty plate tasted freshpicked out of the garden. You will NOT be dissapointed!

“The best restaurant we've had in Ireland”
Reviewed 19 July 2012

When a place wow's you the first time, you put on the list to go back if you ever are in the area again. This was our second visit to Killarney and the Bricin Restaurant was the only place we specifically wanted to eat at while we were in Killarney. The Irish Boxty was the best and that's two times in a row (my brother has been to Killarney 5 times and he's eaten here all five times).

“Oirish but not for the Irish”
Reviewed 19 July 2012

The Good - Service, very good and the Bread, gorgeous. The Bad - well sorry Bricin but there were many. The sound level was intolerable, loud, terrible acoustics. Main course ribeye was not ribeye, more like striploin with more than its fair share of grizzle. A glass of wine should be exactly one fifth of a bottle or 15cl, not the pitiful measure given as a glass here. A fillet of hake, main course..is it just me or should a "fillet" be the fleshiest part of the fish, not the tail end I got, hope someone enjoyed the top half. An E18.80 menu price tagliatelli carbonara, thats a whopping price for a pasta dish anywhere, but for barely more than a starter portion it was extortionate. And lastly mash potato that could pass through a sieve, poor consistency and bland.
Entering and leaving via a tourist shop was the tin hat on a large portion of paddy whackery.
A restaurant can concentrate on quality and build a solid customer base, and increase income. The onus here seems to be on high priced low cost food, delivered to largely a US market who are not deemed repeat business. As a frequent visitor to Killarney had I been impressed I might have returned here but its definitely not value for money ,
