“Food to die for”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

Had a lovely romantic meal in this excellent Restaurant over the weekend. Ordered the seafood platter and it was probably the nicest meal ive ever had the pleasure of eating. Everything was cooked to perfection and the staff were really pleasant and helpful. A must do if ever in Killarney.

“Enjoyable experience, not perfect”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2014 via mobile

We enjoyed a vacation dinner here. All in all a nice experience, friendly and very attentive staff and very hospitable. For a restaurant with this rating you would expect the food to be perfect. Quality was mixed. I had the seafood platter. The mussels in butter sause were fantastic, the prawns cooked to perfection. The squid was nice, but the fish pieces were unfortunately overcooked which was really a shame. The oysters were messed up. There were so much spices on it, there was no oyster taste left. Could have been tofu and it would have tasted the same. So overall definitely above average but not perfect.

“A Splendid Treat”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2014

Lord Kenmares isn't somewhere I would frequent as it is quite pricey but for a special occasion it is certainly worth treating oneself. I came here with family and friends, ten of us in total, for dinner on a Tuesday night and were certainly glad we made a reservation because even on a Tuesday it was quite busy. We decided to splash out and have all three courses and definitely made the right choice.

For starter I had the lamb souvlaki, the serving was rather small (it was one skewer and half a pitta) but the accompanying hummus and tzatziki were very tasty, However for almost €10 there could be a bit more sustenance. What the starter lacked in size the main course more than made up for. I shared the paella royal with my partner and it was superb, very flavoursome fish and chorizo and a very large portion too which left us both very full. We also had a selection of salad, vegetables and potatoes served in bowls for everyone to share so there was definitely no shortage of food. When eating here previously the garlic potatoes were the best I had ever eaten, they weren't quite up to the same level this time but still very good. As usual I found space for a dessert and went with the chocolate fondant which is the very definition of a decadent food, a true "guilty pleasure" which will leave you craving more.

In all, we very much enjoyed our meal here and will surely return the next time we celebrate an anniversary, birthday etc.

“Great seafood!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2014

My husband and I were greeted promptly and warmly. We both had seafood which was delicately prepared and full of flavor. One of the best seafood dishes I've had. We plan on returning before we leave Killarney.
