“Lovely Guesthouse in Killarney”
Reviewed 9 October 2012

My husband and I recently stayed at Killarney Peaks on a recent trip to Killarney. The guesthouse is ideally located if you intend to drive the Ring of Kerry and is only a short (and very scenic) walk from the town centre (approx 10-15 mins).
The room was very comfortable and quiet - the bed was super comfy and the shower was great.
The owner was really friendly and offered some great info on the town and suggestions on what to see / where to go. He also cooks a mean Irish brekkie - one of the best we had in Ireland.
I would definately stay here again when I return to Killarney.

Room Tip: We had a room towards the back so it was really quiet

My husband, his sister and her husband and I recently stayed and found the location to be fine. Damien was very helpful and went out of his way to make sure we knew where we were going and what options were available to us regarding tourist sites, transportation, restaurants and directions. The establishment itself was clean and had everything that we could possible need. Damien, the owner informed us that he had recently opened (six months ago) and that was still in the process of getting things settled. The walk to town is about 15 minutes however, the traffic is quite heavy at times so walking is a good option. The breakfast was very good, and I would stay again should I return to Killarney.

Room Tip: If you have a child or party of 3, ask for the room with the extra bed...it was great!!

At €45 a night for a double room I found this reasonable. Breakfast was lovely and Staff were friendly, relaxed and helpful. My partner had to be up at 5.30am for a race, the owner explained where everything was and let him into the kitchen to help himself, he also asked if he wanted to store his bike in the kitchen for safety. What the rooms lacked in the finer details as outlined by other reviews (bedside lamp) was more than made up for by the most comfortable bed! And a BATH! In our en suite, which we were very grateful for as my partner was very sore after his race. Stay here and you will be glad you did

We (2 couples) stayed at this B&B for one night. The B&B is located about 20 minutes walk from city center but we did not find. The owner was really nice and helpful (explained us how to get to the city center and also give us tips on what to see around). The full Irish breakfast was good. There were also croissants and cereals that you could help yourselves to. The 2 bedrooms we stayed in were OK for one night stay but we would not return back. We have stayed in quite a few places before (that cost the same) so I try objectively rate this one. Neither of the 2 rooms had tea/making facilities as stated. The beds were comfortable. Our bathroom had a very good shower, our friends' was kind of broken. Our bedroom was huge (one double and a single bed) but the one where our friends stayed in was really tiny. There were no complimentary toiletries (just two small soaps - already open but not used). There were two TV's in our room but only the old one was working and there was no remote control (we did not find this as a problem as we really stayed just one night). There is a good size free parking right outside the B&B.

All in all I think it is a bit overpriced for what you get.

This B&B has improved in the last couple of years from mediocre to wonderful. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is one of the best we have had in Ireland. We look forward to our return. The location is super and one can walk to town and the lovely woods easily from here.

Converted house about a mile or so out of Killarney. Family run. Rooms nice and comfortable and spotless.
Breakfast was perfectly adequate with the usual choice before the serving of the breakfast which is cooked to order.
Very handy for the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsular and just outside the national park which has some of the most spectacular views I have ever seen.
Very informal establishment with no fixed reception, just a very friendly nicely run b and b.
The only down side I could foresee is the house is situated on a very busy road. We were at the back and it was clear traffic noise might be an issue on the front.
No pubs or eating places within walking distance, so if you need anything it means a drive into Killarney. If you choose to do this be mindful of the drink drive limit which is a quarter that of England.
Would I stay here again? Definitely and I would recommend itto others but watch out for the traffic noise.

Room Tip: Be mindful of traffic noise at the front.
