“You dont have to tour the House”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

You dont have to tour the House to experience this place.
The House and gardens get 5 stars from me, the house tour would only get 3 stars.
Kids wont like the tour, and to be fair its only ok, but the gardens more than make it for it.
On top of that its a great base to rest and eat for walks in the Park.

“Scenic Mansion”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

You can spend hours here, walking in the splendid gardens and doing the guided tour, which I highly recommend. The house has the spirit of those who lived there or visited them, like Queen Victoria. The mansion is so well placed in that scenery. There's a very good infrastructure for eating and buying souveniers. Must see attraction in Ireland.

“A very pleasant chance to wander”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

The tour of the house was well run and the tour guide was knowledgeable. The tour of the farm was unguided which was good because it gave us the chance to walk and wander, after a day in the car. There were many things we did not do, such as the jaunty tours of the park

“Beautiful surroundings, very relaxed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

Every year we go to Killarney. It's just a beautiful place. We always go to Muckross House for a walk around the gardens, browse the shop and grab a bite to eat. It's one busy place but the food is great and the tables are cleared quickly. The restaurant/cafe seems well managed. The shop has a great tourist selection of books, treats, glassware and clothing as well as magnets etc. The grounds are well manicured with beautiful views. You can also take one of the famous jaunting cars around the estate which is set within Killarney National Park. Everything but the visit inside the main house is free. Pretty good value I'd say!

“Good Day Out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

There is a lot to see here. You have the farm, which is good for children and adults. Then there is the house and gardens. The gardens are beautiful and the house is great. Buy a combined ticket for the house and farm. It does save you money. Well worth the trip.
