You could easily spend the whole day at Muckross and it's gardens. The guided tour was very well done by a young lady and there was no rush. We took the tour to the waterfall by horse and carriage which was really nice. The friendly man told us also about the house and surroundings. The 'cottages' tour wasn't that interesting we thought, because you see so many of these villages around the world. I wouldn't have chosen next time for a joint-ticket.

This was a very excellent mansion and gardens. Take the tour, it is excellent. Take time to walk the grounds and have a bite to eat.

Second visit to this estate and liked it. Entrance to the grounds was free and the fee for entrance to the house and the guided tour was well worth it. Tour lasted one hour and had a 'live' knowledgeable guide. The gardens are well maintained and it is worth a visit if only to spend some time walking through the grounds.
Food served in the restaurant was very good.
