Spent two nights at the Killarney Park and wish it could have been more. We had a suite, with a large bedroom and cozy "drawing room," complete with a fireplace (which we actually used, even though it was June!). Staff professional, courteous and always smiling. Gave us easy directions to the main street of town, which turned out to be a very short, and pretty, walk of ten minutes. Offered to lend us umbrellas for our walk into town, but we took our chances with just rain gear, and ALMOST made it out and back for dinner before it rained. Ate dinner out both nights and later decided that we might have done better to stick to the hotel dining room, especially after sampling the copious and excellent buffet breakfast. After one day, everyone called us by name, a nicety almost impossible to find at even the best hotels - and Killarney Park is certainly one of those.
Wonderful experience. And the best part of all was the bathroom, which came with a STALL SHOWER.

From the moment we arrived the service was first class. Our concierge, a young gentleman named Billy, was one of the nicest, most courteous and helpful person I've ever met, let alone encountered at a Hotel! The room was impeccably kept and decorated, and as comfortable as any I've ever had the pleasure to occupy. The central location made exploring downtown Killarney a breeze, even though the amenities offered on-site make leaving almost unnecessary. The comfortable Bar was a welcome oasis, and the food -- especially breakfast -- was amazing. I've stayed in various 5-Star hotels in the States and in Asia, and this establishment is second to none; I'd give it 6- or 7-Stars if I could!

We stayed overnight recently in what is almost a hidden gem in the very hearty of Killarney town. From the standard of the room, to the friendliness of the reception staff it fully deserves its 5 star rating. What is really nice about this hotel is that, while it operates to the highest standard, it still maintains quite a homely and very welcoming atmosphere with none of the pretentious attitude that can sometimes be evident in similarly rated establishments.
We also had a meal in the very nice bar, and the menu here is reasonable value and the food excellent.
Breakfast was really great, with an extensive and top notch cold buffet, with plenty of options also from the cooked breakfast menu - from which the fresh fish of the day is a real treat.
We didn't try out the extensive spa and leisure facilities, but they looked on par with everything else in this really top hotel.

Loved this place. The staff welcomed us with open arms, like we were long-lost family. They anticipated everything we'd need and had it before we could ask for it. Very nice rooms and convenient to city centre. The dining room was elegant but not stuffy. I have to include Billy on is review, he was great. Really had a good time interacting with all the staff. Next time in Killarney, I will definitely stay here. You should too.

Same family that owns the Ross hotel just across the street. This facility is only 20 years old but has old world charm and feel. Very quiet and pace is warm and classy. Service is impeccable. A mechanical issue with AC ( go figure but one of the hottest times in years) lead to prompt service and eventual room move.
Food (breakfasts anyway) were first rate and plentiful. Bar food was ditto. Ask for Dingle Gin or Vodka! Need to order a bottle or two in the states!
Pool and hot tub was very refreshing and CLEAN which is rarity in indoor facilities. Not here. Very nice. Spa looked awesome but we did not use.
You can tell the family has been servicing for quite sometime.
If you have been before you'll be sad to learn the 300 year old tree in front was blown down. Now a partial sculpture of sorts. Must have been a beauty.
Great place in Kilarney and easy walk to town and great access to park (used O'Sullivan bike rental that Hotel arranged. 10 Euros). Beautiful ride.

Room Tip: Walkable to town. King room was perfect and for our three girls room 164 was accommodated with three...

We stayed at the Killarney Park in May for 2 nights. The hotel was well located near the center of town in a quiet location. The service at the front desk was exceptional. The included breakfast was varied and plentiful. The room was very comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed in the Killarney Park Hotel over the weekend (6 July 2013) and was blown away by the hospitality and service. Everything was perfect; from arrival, to check-in, to the room, all the way through to check-out.

Killarney was very busy over the weekend with the Ring of Kerry Cycle, the Cork Vs. Kerry Munster Senior GAA Football Championships and other events taking place in the town so we really appreciated the fact that we could get a room in the Killarney Park during such a busy period. When we checked in we were brought to our room by Denise who very kindly showed us where everything was and how everything worked. I was really impressed with the room 374 (which I believe is a Junior Suite). The room is very well laid out with every facility a guest could want. We were very fortunate that our stay coincided with one of the warmest and sunniest days of the summer, so the fact that our room had an outdoor terrace with fantastic parkland views really added to the enjoyment of the room.

The room has a lovely lounge area (complete with a gas flame effect fire) which I’m sure must be lovely during the winter. There was a very nice handwritten note from the General Manager, Niamh O’Shea, welcoming us to the hotel and a nice room gift of homemade cookies. The room has a 007 feel to it with all the gadgets, including a concealed television at the foot of the bed and a television in the bathroom.

The bed and bed linen and the tranquillity of the parkland setting made for a truly enjoyable night’s sleep. Complementary Sunday newspapers were delivered during the night and we came down for breakfast at about 10:30am. We were greeted and seated by Beatrice Murphy who was warm and friendly and took the time to chat with all the diners remembering those who had stayed in the hotel previously. We ordered two cooked breakfasts (one with bagel, cream cheese and smoked salmon and one of poached eggs) which were both cooked to perfection. The General Manager was also on duty on Sunday morning and kindly stopped at our table to welcome us personally and to chat with us. After breakfast we went back to our room to read the newspapers and to gather up all our belongings before check-out.

Our only regret about this stay is that it wasn’t long enough; we would have loved to stay for another night but other commitments prevented us from doing so. Killarney is one of my favourite destinations and the Killarney Park Hotel is a perfect venue, the service, the location, the people all made our stay memorable for all the right reasons. Service with a smile; truly a 5-star property…
