Unless you get a refurbished room and you don't mind it being small or looking across at another room, don't stay here. Unfortunatley we didn't have a choice, we were travelling with Trafalgar tours and it was a public holiday weekend. Our room was huge1 double and 2 singles, the good bit stops there. It was dingy, when all the lights were on it was still dim. Not too clean and the bathroom in comparison was tiny. When you squeezed onto the toilet the toilet roll fell off, every time. The view was depressing, see pics. It was crying out for TLC and we had to stay for 2 nights!! To top it off we were awoken at 3am by singing and drunks knocking on doors, this carried on until 4.30am, we had to be up and away at 7.30am. Tried to call reception, but the phone didn't work. Staff were apologetic, too little too late. Don't go there. By the way I asked if the water was fit to drink and the reply was, we sell bottled water. Probably because the picture I took of the water storage tank, from the bedroom window, shows it rusting away. The pictures on the website don't apply to the room we had.

Room Tip: Sorry folks can't help

The hotel staff was the kindest I have ever encountered. Caroline was easy-going and kind and never bothered by any request I had throughout my stay, her help was always accompanied by a lovely smile.

Celia was a wonderful guide with directions to places and things that may be of interest to me. She has an easy laugh, gentle manner, and a good sense of humor (and also a lovely smile)!

My man Paul in the bar is one of the funniest guys I have ever met. I went to the bar just to sit and have a laugh with him. And if you don't like Paul you don't like people.
A wonderful stay because of you fun loving people who have to put up with all of us tourists every goddamn day, my hearty thank you to you all.

Tristan

The Hotel staff could not be bettered, Nothing was too much trouble, even exchanging a mattress.
Three coachloads turned the restaurant into a noisy scrambled nightmare. Soup spoons for breakfast cereal, No fish knives and forks, no desert spoons. No tablecloths. Very little choice of vegetables, only the peas or beans were green.

Room Tip: Rooms over street Noisy all night, and too warm to close the window
