My husband and I were traveling with my 82 year old parents on our recent trip through Ireland. We were traveling independently and upon arrival found that this hotel caters to many large tour bus groups. The rooms were somewhat less than satisfactory, appearing in desperate need of redecoration. The layout of the hotel is extremely awkward as they seem to have joined together numerous building on the block so that one is going up various flights of stairs and down long winding corridors to reach one's room. There is a main staircase in the lobby area and the poor plastic plants haven't been tended to in ages and are toppled over and dusty. It just shows the lack of attention that needs to be given to this place.

You cannot ask for Irish hospitality than what we found at this hotel. The staff is extremely accommodating (ask for Johnnie at the bar) and the reception female was just the best in providing us with a larger family-type room for daughter and her family.

Location- Fantastic in the town centre, everything at walking distance.
Service- Very ok- the locals outside the hotel would help you more. The room service person in my wing was brilliant. We really loved chatting with him.
Rooms- My room took alot lot more time to walk to than i would to the city centre from my hotel. On my concern the receptionist told me thats actually the best room we have so we gave it to you.. okies. I had heavy bags so it tested my cardiac abilities.. no porter service.. room wasnt that great expect the jacuzzi bath tub. I had a view of some back alley garbage bins.so kept curtains closed at all time.
Food- We only had breakfast here, as there are alot of options around. Breakfast like the hotel was an average fare.
Parking- Free but hardly 7-8 cars can fit. And the approach road is very very narrow. So assure parking before you book-or pay and park at nearby public parking. We were denied parking at first but than given after an hour or so.
Wifi- Free & good
Overall- Very average experience. If you prefer city centre hotel in budget category this hotel would be the one for you..

We stayed at best western eviston house hotel for 1 night with the intention to cover the ring of Kerry from here .
It was at best an average experience . The rooms were small and very ordinary . We had a small window which was attached to a passage with a lot of cigarette stubs and such garbage outside . We were afraid to keep the window open fearing that someone could easily come in .
On that day there was some rally in the area due to which the place was full of people . We were not correctly guided on what to do and see in the area .
Breakfast was average .
One good experience which made up for the rest was the music at the pub. We really enjoyed the evening . The other guests at the hotel were also the friendliest nicest people I've met abroad and I enjoyed speaking to a lot if them.
There is a lovely Chinese restaurant right opposite and we enjoyed dinner there .

We recently stayed here at the suggestion of our AAA Travel agent. The rooms were clean and neat but the best part was wonderful pub and restaurant downstairs. Each night there was live Irish entertainment that was really good. So good in fact that patrons from other hotels visited. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel Manager was very professional and often stopped by to say hello. Con, at the bar, gave us a fantastic tip to visit nearby Valentia Island on the Ring of Kerry. Be sure to take the ferry. Bus tours don't seem to stop here. Views from the mountaintop there were just awesome. The Hotel is very convenient to the Ring of Kerry and Dingle Peninsula.

We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights this weekend. The service was 1st class from the reception girls to the housekeeping staff, bar and restaurant. The food is excellent and the atmosphere and music is great. We would like to thank in patricular, Johnny, the Deputy Manager, the waitresses, Marie and Agnes who are absolutely brilliant at their job. They are amazing at working under pressure. The Restaurant and Bar was packed for dinner but they got every order right. The are outstanding. The Customer Service all over the Hotel is excellent. We will definitely be back.
