Overall we enjoyed our stay at Muckross Park but we expected more from a five star hotel. Our room was comfortable and clean. However we did not receive the complimentary water on either day and on the second day our newspaper never appeared. Not major issues but disappointing nonetheless. The spa is fabulous and we really enjoyed relaxing in the conservatory area. However, the pool was not hot enough, I couldn't bring myself to get in the first day! It was slightly improved on our second. Again the steam room and outdoor hot tub were hot enough. Other people commented on this fact to us as well. The one area where Muckross does earn its five stars is the food. The breakfast was fabulous and we ate in the dining room one night where the service was excellent and the food was presented beautifully and tasted as good as it looked!

I visited monks lounge for afternoon tea with my mother and sister . We had booked a table and were seated quickly by a friendly member of staff at a table by a glass door leading into a small courtyard. The condition of the courtyard were very poor ,quite a lot of moss and dirt on the exterior wall . I understand with the irish weather this is unavoidable however, given its a five star hotel and customers were seated next to it, we found it unacceptable . The interior was similar with a drink staining a nearby leather couch , and likewise our cutlery, crockery and teapots were in terrible condition with a lot of stains . Afternoon tea itself was okay ,but there is much to improve in terms of taste and flavor . The staff member who served up.was extremely friendly and if it weren't for this I would say tho overall experience would have been terrible . I would love to return some day if some improvements are made as I know in the past this establishment gap received much praise and I hope it can return to its former glory

we stayed for 2 nights in this enchanted place. The hospitality of the staff throughout our stay was exceptional and they supported us in any way we needed. the rooms were spacious, clean and designed to our taste. the beds were extremely comfortable.
we had dinner at the hotel restaurant which was delicious, generous and delicate in tastes.
The only downside is that we stayed for 2 nights only and we didn't have time to enjoy the treatments of the spa.

Stayed here for my birthday in August, had a comp voucher so thought that might effect service, but it definitely did not!
Shane looked after us so well and answered all questions we had!
Breakfast is fabulous, couldn't have asked for more, all the staff were friendly all over the hotel!
Only downside was that my girlfriend informed the hotel before we arrived that it was my birthday, would have thought there might be an amenity of some sort on the room.
All round great and will be back!

We stayed at the Muckross Park Hotel and Spa for one night on our trip around Ireland. From the moment we walked in the door to the time we left we were treated like royalty by the staff of the hotel and spa. The reception staff were friendly and prompt when checking us in and explained everything thoroughly, we even were surprised when we got upgraded to the huge presidential suite! That evening we visited the vitality spa to relax, had a drink at Molly o'darcy's (pub attached to the hotel), and dinner at Yew Tree (their restaurant) - everything was smooth - there was even a wedding party happening that evening but it was not loud at the hotel at all. Breakfast the next morning was great , scones and breads are served with your coffee or tea and you have a hot and cold buffet to choose from. We also visited the spa again that morning, and my massage and facial was perfect and so was my husbands. Highly recommend this hotel, restaurants, and spa. I recommend booking them directly to get some better deals as well. We would definitely go back!

We spent two nights here. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but this hotel, while lovely, is not in 5 Star condition as advertised. The rooms and hallways are a little bit worn. That said, very clean and the Spa was incredible. Located in a beautiful national park, a great setting. The highlight for us was the beautiful Irish breakfast in the morning. We were very lucky to have Trish as our server and she brought sunshine into our morning along with our tea.

I got married two days ago...and could not ask for a better venue, the attention to detail was amazing, everything ran like clock work, thanks to Mr Declan Sharkey the manager in charge of the whole event,he and the team made it look seamless, although a lot of hard work had gone in,the food was out of this world, and the guest have not stopped talking about it,the hotel is beautiful with good size rooms and the spa is a must, all the front desk staff are very kind and friendly and will do anything for you....thank you Declan and the team for a truly wonderful day.
