Friars Glen rating is off the charts. Five Stars is not sufficient Thus ********** ! Mary, Bridget, & John are warm receptive helpful hosts plus have enormous knowledge of Killarney (and other regions in Ireland) and are eager to share. Their B&B is Comfortable, Beautiful, Excellent Breakfast, Clean and near Muckross, Dingle Peninsula, and many other interesting aspects of the region. Their location within the Killarney national Park (County Kerry) is spectacular and having Deer and other wildlife wandering in the backyard of the B&B is just more icing on the cake. Further, they are not far from the Molly Darcy Pub which we frequented. High recommendations on all counts for this Irish Jewel. Richard & Margot, Aventura, Florida

Our group of four stayed at Friars Glen May 24 and 25. We were met by Brigit who offered us tea and biscuits on the patio. It only got better! Our rooms were absolutely beautiful - so clean and comfortable, and the sitting/reading room was just as nice. We had specific things we wanted to see and Brigit gave us "Brilliant" advice for doing so. Don't miss the Ring of Kerry and Valencia Island - even if you have already seen the Dingle Peninsula! Friars Glen was the perfect location for what our plans included and Mary is such a wonderful hostess. Her breakfast menu is excellent and her food preparation delicious. We only book at B&B's and have stayed in many, but none have topped Friars Glen.

Friars Glen exceeded our expectations in terms of both accommodations and service. The rooms were spacious and clean, the hosts were friendly and hospitable, and Bridgette was incredibly helpful and brimming with Irish hospitality and information. Breakfast was quite nice, and served in a room with many windows overlooking a meadow replete with the occasional deer spotting. There were lovely views of the surrounding gardens from every room. Access to wireless networking was really only available in the common/sitting areas. But the location was great, with a pub within a short walk from the front door. And the close proximity to Sally's Gap, the Ring of Kerry and other spectacular sights was very convenient.

This was our second stay at Friar's Glen. Having experienced the superb service, excellent comfort, and outstanding breakfasts here in April, 2011, we did not hesitate to book a second stay in May, 2012. Owners Mary & John and their head assistant Bridgette again went out of their way to provide an outstanding level of comfort and service, offering advice on where to go, where to eat, and where to locate fine Irish woolens. It feels like you are family when you stay at Friar's Glen. And that's why we have already booked what will be our third stay here in September! There is no B&B better in Killarney. The rooms are cozy, the beds are extra comfy, and you have everything you need in spotless, roomy accommodations. Friar's Glen is an experience you should not miss from some very warm, friendly and caring people who give you their very best in comfort and in superb customer service! Carl & Kristie

We spent 2 nights at Friars Glen and had a wonderful experience. Mary, John and Bridget couldn't have done more for us. Great breakfast, immaculate house and room. Brilliant.
'The Laird' was most pleased.

We stayed here for one night on our five day drive around Ireland. It's hard to add anything to an inn ranked so high, but they're just too nice of people for me not to write about our experience. I'm first-generation Irish, absolutely love Ireland, and every time we return we will spend some time at Friars Glen. As you can tell by the photos, it's right off of a postcard in its charm and setting. When we arrived Mary welcomed us with the standard Irish friendliness and helped answer any questions as soon as we stepped through the door. Our biggest mistake was not staying longer. Killarney and Friars Glen is just a great place to forget about everything else. Killarney National Park is stunning and has just some unbelievable photo opportunities. My lasting image of Friars Glen was our last day in Ireland, we were having breakfast in preparation for the Ring of Kerry and as we gazed outside there was a doe and fawn grazing on the lawn. They were grazing for our entire breakfast 30 feet outside of our window. I'll never forget that morning and we can't wait to return to Friars Glen!

We spent 2 nights at Friars Glen on our self-drive of Ireland. We have two young children (4 years and 18 months) and Bridget and Mary could not have been more helpful or accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. We were made to feel so welcome from our arrival, the room was a good size comfortably fitting all of us, with a beautiful, big white bathroom and some toys for the kids to use. The whole property is immaculately kept. Breakfast was delightful with lots of choice, our 4 year old happily ate her way through a number of pancakes! 5-10 mins drive out of town, it is in a lovely, quiet country setting very close to Muckross House and gardens. Bridget provided great travel advice and showed us some fabulous areas to visit which was really helpful and much appreciated. I would definitely recommend this for a great B&B stay.
